In the dark house Haechan quietly sat on the couch which seohyun loved deeply, it was her best purchase for Renjun's house after the deep grey rug which was placed in their room.
To say she was annoyed was an understatement, all of this happening on her birthday was too overwhelming. From Renjun proposing, her father's murder attempt, her going to jail and charges being pressed on her father. It was all too much she just wanted to lie down and take a deep breath remembering her mother's comfort.

"So Ace, was it worth it?"

Haechan's voice came out taunting which made Renjun chuckle as he poured himself a glass of wine he had bought for special occasions. For him it was an important day. He had accomplished his goal, his purpose to stay alive.

"Every single moment of it, his agony is my happiness"

Renjun calmly sat Infront of Haechan who hummed in response. A knock on door was followed by yangyang walking Inside. Still in his formal attire, loosening his tie he grabbed a can of beer plopping on the seat next to seohyun who looked tired of all of this almost dissociative. Yangyang's hair disheveled, sleeves rolled as he took a deep breath in.

"You better pay me enough for me to buy a private jet renjun"

Renjun already was paying him alot for his effort. He was the last key, and the only one who could use legal way to put hyunbin behind the bars for good. More than money yangyang had sympathy for seohyun. Being around her since their university days they grew close to point he would do it even if Renjun wouldn't pay him a single penny. He fought for the law, and spoke for the innocent who were repressed.

"As long as you get the deal done, your jet would be waiting for you"

Yangyang gave a confident scoff. The documents were finalized. List of evidences, witnesses, proofs— he had everything he needed to win this case.

"By the time I'm done, the court will bow before me huang"

Renjun trusted him to get the job done. Haechan let out a cough intervening their conversation. Yangyang let out a confused noise silently asking why was he here. And most of all did he knew everything?
Renjun let out a sigh.

"He knew I was behind it after I shot hyunbin"

He explained making them furrow their brows. It was under explained.

"You're welcome by the way, you guys left a bunch of clues which I had to clear up"

Seohyun rolled her eyes pressed at him, she knew he was right but what she didn't understand was why was he helping them behind the scenes, he had no motive, no reason to help them. He didn't even knew what happened to seohyun.

"Why?"

It was simple question.

"If it was you I would've believed you were murdering out of spite or fun, but Renjun? That man would never kill anyone without reason"

It was true for Haechan knew his superintendent ever since their department had started, one of the original members. One thing about him which he noticed was that he would never do anything without a cause. When he caught on their suspicious activties had to Investigate. Knowing seohyun's background helped him clear his mind.

"Brave, coming that from a person I can murder right now out of spite hyuck"

Seohyun hissed at him having an urge to choke him. She had definitely inherited her father's anger issues and killer instincts. She wasn't proud of that but atleast it kept her alive.

"Easy, I'm on your side hyun. I know what he did to you, besides I have enough hate for admiral myself to let him take a fall. It's gonna help us all"

His words were true. Admiral was quite hateable man, him being behind the bars was convenient of all. Which is why the trial in the court was supposed to be held as soon as possible. Yangyang had used his strings to get the supreme court to agree.
Seohyun rolled her eyes getting up from her place wanting to leave the place to her room as her house was occupied by men. As she passed by Renjun he held her hand holding her in her steps.
Seohyun sighed looking down at him.

"You guys can leave, see you at trial tomorrow"
