Jack sits on the porch overlooking their massive yard on Martha's Vineyard he and Jackie purchased not long after he retired from his legal business. It's after dinner and he felt like he needed some fresh air. He watches as the waves crash against the shore.

Today he celebrates his 60th birthday and the unofficial start to the summer Memorial Day. He honestly never thought he would make it to this age as the lifestyle he once lived. Life seems much more content and peaceful since he left that world behind. No more looking over his shoulders, having to testify in court to prove one's innocence.

Now he just relaxes and watches his children grow up. John is in high school, Caroline is in middle school, and Patrick is navigating the world of elementary school. Then soon he and Jackie will be celebrating their fifteenth wedding anniversary.

He wishes he had retired sooner. Now he gets to sail more often, a hobby he enjoys doing. Spending more time with his family, as time doesn't seem to be slowing down. Everything is perfect.

Jackie comes out and looks for her husband. She sees him sitting down. Like he's in deep thought. She goes over to him and sits down next to him.

"Are you ok?" She asks softly.

"I'm fine," Jack replies putting his arm around her and bringing her closer.

"You look like you were in a deep thought."

"I guess you could say that. Just thinking about the last fifteen years. It's been one hell of a ride."

"I know," Jackie replies snuggling closer, "it was all worth it."

Jackie kisses her husband. A kiss that becomes passionate.

"It was, I feel like I could never adequately repay you, Jackie," Jack finally says.

"For what?"

"For loving me, showing me what the love from a good woman feels like. Most importantly for making me a better man, husband, and father."

"Oh Jack," Jackie replies with a tear coming down her cheek.

"I love you, kid."

"I love you, Jack."
