yeah, no, zarielle are over.

the story of zarielle is over.

it has been nearly nine years of writing zarielle as a couple (first supersonic and now this). that's almost a decade of picturing two characters together. that's a long ass time.

it's going to be difficult to say goodbye to them.

although, i thought i was saying goodbye to them for good with supersonic. i never expected to write two whole books about them. so who knows what the future holds?

some of y'all are already trying to get me to do CEO vibes zarielle at work or just plain one shots of smut 😭

the current future is insidious ocean, of course.

which has absolutely nothing to do with this.

anyways, i wanna start by thanking y'all for being here for me during this very hectic period. i realize i've tossed a lot of updates at you in these last 17 weeks.

i actually did the math, if anyone is interested:

17 weeks, 33 updates, over 90k words typed

in total, y'all have read over 650,000 words that have flown from my brain, to the tips of my fingers and into a story that somehow made sense.

don't ask me how. i truly have no idea

how i typed 650,000 words or how y'all stuck around for 128 chapters

thank you to each of you for choosing to join me on this journey. i realize that some of you have been here since very early in the birth of this story and that's simply fucking insane because it's been literal years.

thank you for voting, for commenting, for putting in your libraries and reading lists. thank you for following (we're so close to 3k followers, so thank you!). thank you immensely for suggesting! i've found some of you on tiktok and twitter and it means the absolute world to me.

didn't even know y'all tiktok suggests existed until like a week ago, but here we are. any of you that have suggested me in a public manner that i've found, i know i've thanked. i look for indirects on this story (as well as my others) frequently, but supersonic and hypersonic are nearly impossible to search up on twitter (lots of plane shit comes up smh).

also, thank you to those of you who've reached out. i've received various dms over the years relating to this story and it's been wonderful getting to know some of you.

this story has been a lot of blood, sweat, and tears. more than any other story i've ever written to date. it required a lot of researching at certain points. it's stressed me tf out (especially in these last few weeks. i've been a panicked mess trying to finish this and juggle IO). but i wouldn't change it for anything.

i'm especially proud of zayn and arielle's characters. they've both fucked up in the plot of this story, but they learned from their mistakes and improved. i don't want to write perfect characters. none of us are perfect. we all fuck up. the important thing is that we learn from those mistakes and make the necessary changes.
