CHAPTER FIVE

SCARLETT

I was only in my underwear and a cropped top. I had just finished my homework and was waiting for Cole to come back home from work so that we could have supper when I heard a knock on the door. I went to open it and grinned at Gwen, one of the housekeepers.

She smiled goofily and said, "There's a guy downstairs waiting for you. He said his name is Kai."

My eyes widened.

"He's really cute." She wiggled her brows.

Extremely. But I didn't send him my address, so I wondered how he found me. Azalea said he was joking!

"Can you send him up?" I squeaked.

"You think Cole will like that?"

"There are no rules so far, so I think he can come here." I timidly replied.

"All right. Don't do anything I wouldn't do." She sang as she walked away.

I blushed and closed the door. "Shit," I muttered repeatedly as I ran to my closet. I needed to look presentable. I scanned through it for a pair of sweatpants and found a white pair to go with the blue crop top I had on. I removed my hair from its ponytail and brushed through it with my fingers. I caught my breath when there was a soft knock on the door and let it out slowly. "Don't disgrace yourself," I whispered to myself.

I walked to the door and opened it with a smile.

"Surprise," Kai said. "I had to track you down since you didn't send me your address. I wanted to surprise you; that's why I didn't call. Nice room," he complimented my floral and amethyst-themed room.

"I—I th—thought you were j—joking. A—Azalea said you were. You said you'd c—call." I winced inwardly.

"They were messing with you, but I wasn't. I wouldn't pass up an opportunity to be with a cute girl with a cute blush. And as I said, I wanted to surprise you." His lazy-like voice drawled, eyeing me from head to toe. My heartbeat increased in excitement when an expression of lust flashed on his face and in his eyes.

The red colour staining my cheeks deepened, and I walked to my bed. I was still trying to wrap my mind around the fact that Kai Diamond was in my room. World famous Kai Diamond, Hot Kai Diamond. Kai Diamond!

Kai chuckled and closed the door behind him.

"W—were you o—offered anything?" I asked.

"Yeah. I passed. I couldn't wait to see you."

"Yeah, right." I blushed more.

He joined me on the bed and leaned toward me. I could smell the scent of the cigarette he had smoked, and it made him seem hotter. I didn't support smoking. It was bad for the lungs, but whenever I saw him do it, I just swooned. He did it with such elegance. Gosh, I was just so ditzy. "You don't believe me?"

I gazed into his captivating clear blue eyes and shifted backward. He had those eyes that enamored you. The deep tones made you breathless.

"You think I'm a heartbreaker who's just going to waste your time..." He smirked.

"Th—the number of girls you've slept with doesn't justify that you're n—not." I said, fixing my gaze on my palms. Any more eye gazing was going to make me look like a fool.

He held my chin up with a smile and locked his eyes with mine. "I like it when you look into my eyes. It does things to me."

I blushed harder as my eyes widened at his brazenness and looked away, biting my lower lip. His lazy voice, which was just sexy, caused goosebumps to appear on my arms.
