CHAPTER THREE
SCARLETT
I called Savannah, Azalea, Kai, Andrew, and Pierce, all in the 12th grade, the Already Achieved, because they had it all. They had the looks, the fame, the money... and not just their parents' money. They had their own money too. Aside from the fact that they were international performers, they had also started businesses of their own. They had been together since they were toddlers. They were also from old money. No matter how much they had, new money could never match up to them. The name of their entertainment group was KAASPA Crew and everyone feared them and their families. They were nice people when they wanted to be, and extremely horrible to anyone who got in their bad books. They always got people responding to their every command.
The K, A, A, S, P, and A, in the KAASPA Crew, were just the initials of the Already Achieved put together.
Kai was the prodigy who produced a painting whilst the others performed and he always finished on time, producing the most beautiful paintings. His creativity was remarkable. He was a replica of his mom, who was an internationally revered artist and engineer. The apple certainly didn't fall far from the tree. His paintings were also sold. They were quite expensive too. Upon my request, Cole bought two, which hang proudly in the living room and my room, right across my bed.
His twin, Azalea was a very flexible, very sexy dancer. She was amazing. She could perform any dance. The same went for Savannah. They were the only two dancers. They were so sultry and sexy, it had to be a sin. The movement of their bodies on and off stage captivated just about anyone, and they were always so in tune with each other and with the music. They were never, and I mean never, offbeat.
Pierce played the violin; he was immaculate, and Andrew played the piano. They had magical fingers. Andrew and Pierce were fraternal bi-racial twins. They were half Chinese and half African- American. They were so good, they were practically better than Mozart, but maybe, I was just being biased. The music they composed touched your soul. One time they performed a piece on stage which they used to charm a snake to move in sync with Azalea and Savannah. It was epic. What made it even go viral was the fact that at that time they were 13 years. But then again, every performance of theirs always went viral. Kai's painting that day was of the girls and the snake. It sold for 15 million dollars. That was his first very expensive painting.
The last A represented Aaron, who died when they were six. He was also a dancer on the crew before his death. Every time they performed together, they made each of their talents blend beautifully. That was what made them the best talent group internationally. Their performances always had a story to tell, and as I said, they practically touched your soul.
Their performances were worth millions.
Now, there were also the people that I called the Achieving because they were popular and feared, but not as much as the Already Achieved. They were the minor cliques and wannabes who kissed the asses of the Already Achieved. They tried to dress like them, talk like them, etc. but it did not work for them as it did for the Already Achieved.
Then there were the Onlookers, who also wanted to be the Already Achieved but did not have the means to do so and were too scared of criticism to even try. When I say the means, I do not just mean the money. I also mean the looks and the elegance. I was one of the Onlookers. I had the money, courtesy of Cole, I had the looks –if you ignored my terribly skinny frame- but I did not have the confidence or the elegance. I did love to dress up and I loved my designers, but the attention it brought my way made me nervous. So, even though I looked the part, I was certainly no Jennifer Lopez.
