CHAPTER THIRTY- NINE

SAVANNAH

"Wait, you're kidding right?" I rolled my eyes as I supervised the work of the interior decorator.

I had spent the previous day supervising their work as well so that everything could be done in time for me to move in before Scarlett showed up at her house after her sexcapade and saw me there.

Most of the work had been done, so I had slept in my new home for the night. The interior decorator worked quickly, so I knew that she would be done by the second night. I had poached some of the security from my parents, but I still hadn't gotten a maid because I had yet to post the advertisement.

"This is the first time that you and Kai are going to be away from each other, and you are letting a silly grudge about who was right prevent you from your fairytale goodbye?" Azalea asked Scarlett.

I video-called both of them immediately Azalea told me what happened. Azalea and I did not see what the issue was because Scarlett finally knew everything or almost everything, and she understood. Kai had a point and so did she, but one of them had to be mature. Kai had an ego the size of Jupiter and would definitely not apologize, which meant Scarlett had to be the mature one.

She simply shrugged.

Or not...

"Come on, Red."

"N- no." She murmured. "F-for once I-I want him to apologize for offending me. I-I'm a- always the one apologising."

That was true, she apologized for everything.

I sighed and shook my head. "He will be gone for almost 2 weeks, Scar. Do you really want to be arguing with him for that long?"

"No, b- but I- I'm not budging." She responded childishly.

I groaned. We had all planned to exchange Christmas gifts that evening at the Diamond estate as was our Christmas tradition, and it was supposed to be a joyous, little occasion, but those two were just going to put a dumper on our get together. Scarlett wanted the gifts delivered, meaning she planned to be absent, and Kai would be moody the entire night until his flight left.

As Azalea took over with trying to convince Scarlett, a message from her cousin popped up on my phone which I ignored. That was the tenth message he had sent since the previous morning along with 7 missed calls, which I had ignored. You may think that I would take my advise and talk to Cole, but you should know that the situation was quite different. First of all, none of us was travelling and Cole did not trust me.

After Kai had left my new home three days prior, I texted Cole to pick me up on his way home since his office was closer to my home and I had arrived in an Uber. I was not ready to drive my car yet.

It was true that I had not informed him that I would leave the house, and I had not told him that I was moving into a new house alone, so I understand how it looked when he picked me up and I had been reeking of expensive male cologne. However, he should have known that if I wanted to lie to him I would. I would not have a conversation of commitment to him and just jump on the next guy who texted me just because I was bored and horny. Actually, that sounded like something that I would have done, but I explained to him that I just wanted to see and talk to Kai and I could still sense his unbelief. Although I knew that he had good reason to doubt I was still hurt.

I read his text.

Cole: If you don't pick up my call or respond to my texts, I'm coming there with the police to be sure you are alive.
