"THOMAS," EDEN WHISPERED, GENTLY shaking the sleeping boy's shoulder in the hopes that he would not be so violently pulled from sleep that he became startled and yelled out, waking all of the others. "Thomas."

He woke with a start that made her jump, eyes squinting due to the sudden change in light yet she could clearly see the panic within them. She quickly put a finger to her lips and waited just a second for him to come out of sleep completely. Once he seemed somewhat conscious, she signalled for him to follow her and went to walk out of the Homestead. She, while on route, had to be extra careful not to accidentally knock Chuck's hand as it was sprawled out of his hammock directly in their path. Despite the slight setback, they both managed to make it out of the Homestead without waking anyone.

He followed silently, yawning while rubbing his eyes at the bright light from the morning. "Where are we going?" he asked once they were meer meters out of the Homestead, not even attempting to quieten his voice whatsoever.

"Just follow and be quiet, we can't wake anyone up," she whispered in reply, looking back at him briefly before she continued onwards. The silence amongst them returned and the Greenie simply just followed her the entire way, even after they got so close to the wall that Thomas thought that she could have walked through it. He watched with such confusion as she paused at a specific part of the wall ad checked to see if anyone was around. Eden lifted away the thick Ivy that covered the wall and slipped through a gap only big enough for one person to walk through while on their side. He followed her with a head full of apprehension, finding the small space far too long and cramped.

As he passed through the small corridor (if you could call it that) and into space that made it so they could both breathe without restriction, Thomas became aware of a soft metallic whirring and the almost scampering clattering of metal against a stone floor. Eden looked only to the clear wall in front of them, encasing the animal that was making said noise. "This is Griever," she enthusiastically introduced, watching as Thomas almost jumped at the realisation as to what was in front of him.

He practically pushed his nose flat up against the glass, trying to get a closer look at the dangerous creature that lived in the maze that everyone was so afraid of. "But Newt said that no one has ever seen one?"

"Newt doesn't know about this one, only Minho and I do," she sighed softly, watching the Griever scamper back and forth across the concrete box that it had been encased within. "Do not tell a soul, do you understand me?" she continued, voice firm and into the leader tone that she infrequently bought across.

He nodded, glancing toward her so she knew he wasn't going to tell anyone. His brow furrowed, "Why are you showing me this?"

"Well... I have a hunch that you're more of the curiosity type than most are. That you want to know what is our main source of danger," she shrugged, making a choice that she had been up thinking about for most of the evening seem insignificant in the grand scheme of things.

He sighed and Eden didn't quite know what sort of emotion was hidden behind the sigh, maybe relief or further confusion or even perhaps contentment - she found Thomas extremely hard to read. He peered further at the Griever, watching its every move, "It's so..."

She stepped forward ever so slightly, moving out of the shadows somewhat as she folded her arms in front of her chest, "Creepy and metallic yet also flesh-like?"

He briefly tore his attention away from the Griever and smiled at her, "Yes."

"See the thing on its legs? That there is a syringe full of some type of poison."

"It's missing one," he soon observed, brow furrowed in confusion once more.

"We cut it off, so I could study it," she answered quickly and non-chanantly, watching as the Griever climbed up the concrete walls of the box and once more tried to make its way out of the grate-covered ceiling that let in all the light the room needed. He nodded in reply as if that was completely obvious.
