37. fire

Julie's pov.
"Okay here you go!" I give Dahlia some pencils and she starts drawing. it's been a week since she asked for a brother. But she stopped asking and I'm very glad for that. Now she is sitting on the kitchen table drawing. It's Saturday afternoon and Rose is sleeping. I clean the kitchen for a while till Dahlia gives me her drawing. I see 5 people on there or I think so.
"Look mommy it's me and you and daddy and Rose and brother" she points at a baby on her drawing. I sigh but  smile at her.
"Thanks Dahlia" I say and she walks over to continue drawing. I look at the paper. She really wants a brother. Luke comes downstairs with Rose in his arms he let her crawl around and gives me a kiss on my forehead. Luke sees the drawing and smiles.
"It's with brother" I whisper and he looks at the baby on the drawing.
"Oh Julie" he hugs me and I sigh.
"Okay I'm going to clean the nursery." I tell him and walk upstairs.

Luke's pov.
I look at the drawing again. Dahlia is really obsessed with a baby brother probably because of seeing Theo and Flynn or something I don't know. Rose bubbles something and I take her and sit next to Dahlia on the table.
"Look daddy!" She points at another drawing it's a boy in a garden.
"Who is it?" I ask her.
"Brother" she just says and continues drawing. It's really hard seeing that. I know how much Julie wants a baby again too but we tried so many times it won't work so we stopped trying. Personally for me I'm happy with my 2 daughters but a baby would be still amazing but it's not something I need. Don't get me wrong I would be so happy if we could get another child but I'm happy for my little family. Julie told me that she feels like our family isn't complete. My poor Julie.
"Daddy? Is mommy sad?" She asks.
"No hun"
"Oh I saw mommy crying yesterday" she tells me.
"Really?" I ask.
"Mhm"

Julie's pov.
Finally. Rose's room is clean again and I make my way in our bedroom. I get some new bed sheets and clean our bathroom. After that I walk downstairs and see Dahlia playing with some teacups and teapots. Luke and Rose are also playing. I laugh at Luke because he has some clips in his hair and a ponytail or the ponytail you can do with his hair. Rose also has clips in her hair and a cup in her hands.
"Mommy sit down, we have tea party" she gives me a cup and I sit next to Rose she bubbles and climbs in my lap I give her a kiss on her head.
"Some tea for you and you and you and you" she gives us all "tea" and some of her dolls too that sit with us on the floor.
"Thanks Dahlia" I say and she smiles at me.
"Blbababab" Rose bubbles and throws the plastic cup on Luke.
"Ohw" he laughs and tickles Rose.
"You little throwing princess" he laughs and Rose giggles and cuddles into my chest.
"Okay time for bed, Rose is tired" I get up with her in my arms. I walk with her upstairs and feed her. After that we cuddle for a while till she falls asleep and I lay her down.
"Good night Rosie!" I whisper and leave the room.
I walk in Dahlias room she is already in bed and Luke reads a book to her. I give Dahlia a goodnight kiss and get myself ready for bed.

I sit in bed reading a book Luke lays next to me. He watches me read.
"What?" I ask and lay the book on my nightstand.
"Nothin just watching my beautiful wife" he smiles at me and I cuddle into his chest. Luke rubs over my cheek.
"What's wrong Julie?" He asks.
"Nothing is wrong. Why?" I ask.
"Dahlia saw you crying yesterday, she told me" he explains. Oh.
"Oh it was nothing. Good night!" I turn over and turn the light off.
"Julie!" Luke says and I let out a small sigh.
"Good night Luke!" I say. And i hear him sigh before i fall asleep.

"Mommyyy! Daddyyyyy" I hear Dahlia scream. It's midnight as i look at my phone. Luke is sleeping like a baby so i get up and get Dahlia. I walk out of the room in the hallway and smell? SMOKE! What!
"LUKE!!" I yell and he runs to me.
"Omg! Go get the kids i look downstairs!" He says and I run in Dahlias room.
"Okay Dahlia. It's okay! Take my hand and and don't leave it until i tell you to okay?!!" I say and run into Rose's room both are crying really bad.
"Okay baby I'm here I'm here" I take Rose in my arm and hold Dahlia in the other.
"Mommy" Dahlia cries.
"It's okay" I say. And we walk out in the hallway where Luke comes from downstairs.
"The fire is from the laundry room!" He explains. Oh no! Luke runs somewhere i can't see it because of the smoke. Me and Dahlia cough and Rose cries.
I here sirens.
"Mommyyy" Dahlia looks at me.
"We will be save soon hun" I tell her and we run into Rose's nursery.
"Stay here okay! Don't leave the room! Dahlia look at me! don't leave the room okay? I'll be back soon I have to find daddy." I explain.
"Okay mommy" she says and i sit Rose next to Dahlia who is hugging her. I scream out of the room" LUKE! WHERE ARE YOU?!" i yell.
"Here" I see Luke running up to me and we close the door and sit all together in a corner.
"The fire comes upstairs." He explains and takes Rose in his arms.
"No! Mom's music book is in our  room!" I want to run out but Luke take say arm.
"Julie no you can't go out of the room it's too dangerous!!"
"But moms-"
"No! Julie please!" He yells and i sit next to Dahlia she snuggles into me crying and shaking. I rub her back.
"It's okay baby it's okay" I say and kiss her forehead.
"I-Im scared mommy" she says and I hug her. We all cough really bad because of the smoke. Suddenly I hear a loud crack from outside the room.
"What was that?" I ask Luke and he gives me Rose and looks outside.
"Just something falling of the wall i guess" he says and walks over to look out of the window.
"Oh good the firemans are here!" He says and opens the window.
"HERE! WE ARE HERE!" He yells.
We wait and wait but no one is coming.
"Where are they?" I ask.
"I don't know they should be here soon" Luke says and we all cuddle together in a corner. Rose cries and Dahlia cuddles into me.
"We're safe soon my girls" I tell them.
Luke walks to the door and looks outside.
"WERE HEREEE!" He screams in the hallway and Luke runs out.
"LUKE!" I yell is. He is crazy!
"Mommy breathe hurts" Dahlia tells me.
"I know Dahlia me too, it's the smoke" I explain and close the door.
I look out of the window were some firemans are coming up.
I take Rose in my arms and take Dahlia in my hand.
"Oh first the baby" a fireman says and I give him Rose and then Dahlia.
"We'll bring the kids down. Stay here!" He tells me and I look them go down.
I notice Luke running in.
"Here" he gives me moms music book.
"What! Luke!" I say and he hugs me.
"Thanks" I say and we get to go done safe too. Outside is see the giant fire! Our beautiful house! Rose cries in my arms and Dahlia in Luke's.
"Is anyone hurt?" Someone asks.
"No don't think so" Luke says.
"Okay good but you still have to come to the hospital. For a check up!" She says.

2 hours later in the hospital.

Julie's pov.
No one got hurt or burned but we all 4 have a small smoke poisoning. But nothing really bad. I sit with Rose and Dahlia in the waiting room while Luke is talking to our family's. The doctor said we  can go but where should we go? Our house is burned so bad we can't go back anymore. Everything is destroyed. And that's all my fault. I sigh it's been a long night. Luke sits back to me and he buries his face in his hands I lean my head on his shoulder.
"I'm so sorry" I tell him
"Why?" He asks.
"It was all my fault! I forgot to turn out the Iron before I went to bed."
"Oh Julie" he gives me a hug and I feel  tears rolling down my face.
"It's okay" he says.
"No it's not. Our house is destroyed and everything in there is too" I say and he gives me a tissue. I watch Dahlia play with some blocks and Rose sleeps in my arms. My beautiful girls.
"Mija!" I look up and see Dad running to us. He gives me and Luke a hug and we walk to his car. We're going to live in my house till I don't know...
