Every day God stringed your goodness on a twine
Every pearl of laughter, every single smile
Those big brown eyes, that saw through all the lies
And yet, you still punished me with a prize
Of your tender heart
The sweetest memory of you is always near
In the smell of the flour and baking in the air
When my heart would break, you would always take
Sadness, every tear, on your lap would disappear
With your silly jokes
Some mothers make up a string for Jesus pearls
Threaded on a royal chain, part of heaven's jewels
My Momma was all this and more that kept us from the dark
She paved her way through pain into everybody's hearts
Our angel from heaven,
To me my own Joan of Arc
We never knew how fast your time would go
You bore the pain, so that we wouldn't ever know
You gave me everything that you never had
Dried every tear, made me laugh when I was sad
I would give the world and more
If I could take away the pain you wore
Put my head on your heart
Hear your laughter start
Momma you're my Joan of Arc
Some mothers make up a string for Jesus pearls
Threaded on a royal chain, part of heaven's jewels
My Momma was all this and more that kept us from the dark
She paved her way through pain into everybody's hearts
Our angel from heaven,
To me my own Joan of Arc
You were the best of Mother
I love you like no other
My Joan of Arc
