A wise man once told me, be silent and wait
Give the Lord time to restore your faith
Forgive the little girl move with the time
This girls has nothing to be forgiven for, my life is mine
What happened is done, forgiveness I gave
No longer the one begging, your slave
My faith never left me, My God on my side
You the betrayer will pay for your lies
When every stone was hurled at my youth and my love
I closed my eyes let my emotions be the dove
That took all the heartache away on a breeze
Every time I prayed, hands clenched on bended knee
But one thing is true as the wiseman said
Sometimes be still, let the peace spread
So much to be grateful for, so much I love
Thankful for the Higher Power from up above
They tried all they could, I'm still standing strong
Fighting what I believe in, however long
Battles may change, enemies grow
In my stillness with God is the woman I know.
