I may look happy,
but honestly Dear,
The only way I'll really smile,
is if you cut me from ear to ear

Where had it all gone so terrible wrong? And why?
The questions kept spinning in her head. Jeff had left her, enraged and with his hand clutching the knife hard before he'd disappeared. It didn't take her much to figure out what he would be doing with it. Nora hugged the book against her chest tightly, fighting to keep the tears from running down her face. She felt, violated. Not psychologic but rather mentally. He'd destroyed so many of her childhood memories so easily that it was terrifying.
" - I've had them fed to me too when I was little! Because do you know why you idiotic little girl? DO YOU KNOW WHY!? - "
"No I don't know why!"
"Because I've had parents too!!! "
How could an innocent child become a coldblooded murderer who killed not because he needed to but rather because he enjoyed it? No-one is born evil she'd heard plenty of times before, they're made that way because they've deepest inside chosen to live that life. So what had made him chose this path? She would never be able to understand why Jeff killed and nothing he'd said could change that fact either.
That, she was sure of.
Nora pulled the covers up over her head and felt that her body and mind needed sleep. Even though she herself did not want to she gave in to the desire and fell into a deep sleep. Unfortenaly her dreams were as terrible as usually. She was haunted, running the fastest she could from this, danger but it didn't help. She would always see that horrific grin smile wickedly at her and those eyes stare through her soul. Then the face of the poor man would be seen before everything was covered in red. She gasped for air as she was awoken from the nightmare with light drops of sweat on the forehead and the hair standing up on the arms. She sat there for a while as her eyes slowly adjusted to the now dark bedroom of hers. Cold shivers ran up the back once she saw him leaning against the window, his eyes almost seemed to glow in the dark.
"Awake now?" he asked with his greasy voice while he was playing with his knife.
Nora sat up and the book glided down from her stomach.
"I wish I wasn't," she spook while looking straight at him upset by his presence.
His smile widened before he took a few steps towards her. She hated that every time he approached her she felt so terrible small and vulnerable, like a deer meeting a wolf in the woods.
She hated him for making her feel defenseless.
"Get up and get dressed, we're going out,"
Nora nearly swallowed her tongue.
"Out? Now?" she asked confused about his statement as she saw the clock showing 20.45.
He looked at her as the playful expression was replaced with an insane one making Nora feel uncomfortable.
"You come with me now or I'll slay your father infront of you when he comes home,"
Jeff stared at Nora who had no other choice than to nod terrified before he walked out of her room and down the stairs. She waited for the sound from the door closing, but there was none.
He's like a shadow - soundless.
She really didn't want to follow him out but if she wanted her father or herself to live she'd no other choice. Who knew what he might do if she decided to disobeyed him? Nora crawled out from her bed and thanked that she'd slept with her cloths on. She hurried down the stairs and put the jacket and shoes on before opening the front-door. Outside it was dark and cold. The moon made itself present and shone its light down on everything. Nora closed the door carefully behind her and locked it. Jeff couldn't be seen anywhere as she walked down from the front-porch. The sound of an owl made itself present far away and the silence made her ears ring painfully as she searched for Jeff's white hoodie in the night.
