"Here's the report Sir - It's... well, I think you already know"

"Thank you, Carol" officer John spoke as his tired eyes looked down onto the file containing information about the young boy who'd been found dead a few days ago. It pained his old heart seeing such an innocent one lose its life for nothing but pure madness caused by an insane and disturbed murderer. This was the 8th child that had gone missing and later found dead.

"Is there no end to this madness?" he groaned as he let his head rest in his aching hands.

"Also, this came in today Sir; it's yet another one"

He sighed before looking up as he took the paper his colleague held out toward him, angry words asking for his reassignment due them not being able to catch the killer who now had taken far more lives than John though could be possible without getting caught.

"Well, I can't really blame them. This town will be emptied out before the next month if we don't catch him: although, that perhaps wouldn't be such a bad thing after all - I'm still surprised that there's still people thinking it's not as bad as it sounds and thus choosing to stay, poor fuckers."

"What... Should we do?"

He rose from his desk, turned around and looked out through his window into the rainy afternoon.

Yeah, what the fuck should we do?

"Still no trace after Sebastian?" he asked, throat tightening with sorrow.

"No, Sir: his apartment had been emptied out completely when they searched it"

"Hospitals?"

"None had a record of him being taken in"

They needed to find him; after all, his body hadn't been among John's others... They hadn't found his body anywhere, suggesting he might had gotten away.

Yet, even if that was possible, he needed to be found and interrogated quickly, if not: he'd be prosecuted for concealment of evidences and as no co-operative... That poor bastard. Sometimes the law needed a kick in its face, that was for sure.

"Make sure other stations get information concerning Sebastian - if we manage to locate him, perhaps we can draw more to this and end this bloodshed once and for all. If he, of course, still walks among the living that is"

"I'll do so straight away" she answered and turned around heading for the door. "One more thing: the Simmons, his daughter which we spoke with about a week ago; should I...?"

Could it be...?

"... No. There aren't enough proof for a connection of that sort yet, and we need to be careful in case the media would get their hands on that information. However," John turned around and faced his colleague with a stern expression written in tiredness. "It would be un-wise not looking further into it, since we now know Jim Taylor for a fact was at their house hours before he committed those... actions. After all - blood never lies."

"Where the hell is he? Did he suddenly ditch town or what?"

"That... bastard.. idiot" she muttered underneath her breath as the tv's soft sound made her drowsy.

School had been cancelled for the week due to all that had happened. When not even teachers wants to show up and instead flee the town it has gone too far, in fact - the reason that Jim had to die and Jessica move showed more than enough that the police and everyone else - including Nora - had begun reaching a dead end where they now had to decide if they would turn around and face the threat or try punching the wall down with nothing but their bare fits.
