Faces of people she'd met and his flashed before tired eyes.
Memories of his laugh, his beautiful smile.
Where they even real?
Did he ever even exist?
Tightly her hand squeezed that which was all she had left of the one she cared so indescribably much about, the one and only thing that reminded her that he in fact was very real.
Was...
"What are you thinking about?"
That. Voice...
"What's the point in even answering?"
Silently she stared before her as she did everything to not let those tears fall. There had been so many that it felt nearly unnatural not to be crying at the moment. Yet, she held them off. What was he even doing here? Why did he suddenly act as if she meant something to him? Hadn't this entire cat and mouse game from the start been a way of showing her how significantly little he cared for her? Why unexpectedly pretend that her life, her feelings and emotions was something meant caring for when the opposite clearly was his goal?
"Hey answer me"
"Like Hell I will" the words were out even before she could stop them.
Jeff smirked in the dark lit room as he fiddled with his knife enjoying his belonging's slip-up. Or maybe slip-out? Hell if he knew. Turning away from Nora he gazed out through the window down onto the empty street in the night, wondering where all the policemen and women possible could be such a beautiful night like this one. The entire town had become nearly completely evacuated, only a handful people were still staying behind for reasons not even Jeff could possibly grasp.
Well, it was them and they now he supposed. If they had known what had happened some weeks ago in the forest, they would have fled town quicker than their shadows could have followed them. Although Jeff did not sleep particularly much during any time of the night or day, Nora did. And almost every damn time she did, she would wake up screaming, sweat beaded on her pale forehead and throat dried as Jeff could tell her mind still was stuck in that forest from that night.
First time she'd nearly given him a heart-attack, and he'd felt his sanity drop to zero as he imagined how his plan had failed to lure the tall-freak away from her. Yet, there was only them every time he'd quickly went to check on her and Nora had not complained of any more nausea or unexplainable black-outs or headaches - meaning it must have worked.
However, if she looked like a walking corpse before - she certainly did not look any healthier now. He had kept his distance, but had never truly let his gaze utterly leave her for any longer period of time, almost as if something primal within refused to let her slip between his fingers. That primal thing had begun tormenting him about things he really not had been bothered by before, things which were... More than just annoying. Disgusting.
He'd experienced urges before, in fact - he experienced what he believed to be it everytime he let his beautiful knife steal that light from his victims eyes and their insides coat him in red.
However, this urge, was different - and it made itself more and more present the closer he was to her. One night when she had been (luckily) sleeping pretty heavy from what Jeff could tell, a desire had taken its tool completely over him. It had been so powerful that he'd nearly lost his calm entirely. Carefully, he'd sneaked into the bed where she was resting and laid next to her. He could not keep his hands to himself as he slowly let his cold fingers brush over her warm skin, the hot blood flowing right under his ice-cold touch. Her heartbeat's slow thudding in her chest beginning to drive him mad with desire - or at least that he'd thought until she had shifted in her sleep - body turning around and face next to his as one of her hands grasped the dirty fabric of his white hoddie.
