Lexi's POV
We got in the car. I have no idea where we're going. California is new to me. I've only been here a day, and here I am on a date with a guy I just met... Is it a date?

The sun was shining. California is really a beautiful place. The only thing I don't like about it is the traffic... On the way to wherever we were going, we were stuck in traffic for what seemed like hours. But it gave me extra time to get to know Ross a little more. I learned Ross grew up in Colorado, has 3 brothers and 1 sister, and is in a band with 3 of those siblings, R5. He also told me about Austin & Ally, and I learned he was in his third season of the show. It was actually very impressive, and kind of a big deal.

"So tell me about yourself. It's your turn now." Ross said to me.

"What do you want to know?"

"Where you grew up... What you like to do... Something no one else knows about you. Anything."

I smiled.
"Well, as you know, my parents, Cassy and I just moved here, coming from a small town in Pennsylvania many people have never even heard of. I used to live a regular high school life." Every once in a while I saw Ross look over at me. I continued, "I was NEVER a sporty girl, but also not necessarily a nerd. I was always right in the middle of everyone. I never stuck out to anybody. Now I'm here, and I have to start all over again as a junior, in a new school. There's really not much else to tell."

"Well Lexi, shall we finish this conversation later? Because we have arrived at our first stop." He smiled.

I looked out the window of the car, and realized I haven't paid attention to the view outside the entire ride. We got out, and we were in a beautiful, vast, empty field. The ground was covered in petals from the nearby cherry blossom trees, adding an even prettier color to it all. It was perfect.

"How did you ever find this place?" I asked Ross, still in awe of this place's beauty.

"Rocky and I like to go on adventures sometimes. We just drive around until we find something we like." He explained.

"It's beautiful."

"Yeah--" It sounded as if Ross wanted to add something else, but stopped talking before he could. I shot him a goofy glance and started walking. An hour and a long conversation later, we were back at his car, ready to go to our next stop.

It was already past 2:00, so we decided to go get lunch. We pulled up to a diner, after Ross told me how this was his favorite food place in all of California. As we were walking inside, Ross took my hand in his. I didn't pull away. I liked the feeling of them together, like they fit perfectly. I looked down at our hands, then up to Ross and smiled. We were seated, then told to order our food. Ross told me they had the best burgers, so we both ordered one and had a conversation while waiting for our food.

Ross asked me, "What do you like most about California so far?"

I thought a minute, then responded.
"The beaches. Growing up in Pennsylvania, there was never an ocean right around the corner. And I've only stepped foot in the ocean a few times. But now that it is practically my neighbor, I want to learn how to surf and do all of that water stuff."

"Nice." Was all he said.

After a while, our food came.

Ross was right. The burgers were amazing. We were getting up to leave, and I insisted to pay, but Ross refused.

"My treat." He said.

He really is a great guy. Once again, I got in the car, waiting to see where we will end up next. So far, it really was a perfect day.
