Ross's POV
The weekend went by fast. I spent most of it with Lexi, but Rydel and her went shopping for a while after the sleepover. This morning, I'm waking up early to take Lexi to school. Before R5 really took off, I used to go this school. I figured it would be an easier transition for Lexi if I showed her around first. I texted her good morning as always then got ready to take her.
Lexi's POV
I am going to be a junior at Pacific Coast High School. If Ross were here, he'd be a senior. Since he's homeschooled, I don't know anyone. Ross volunteered to show me around. The principal allowed since I didn't know anybody else.First period is about to start. Ross took me to the office to get my schedule. Then, he showed me where my locker was, and took me to my first class. Ross took a seat in the back of the classroom as Mrs. Freeds welcomed me to the class. She let me go in the back with Ross.
A while later I could feel him staring at me. I looked over at him and smiled. Then, he looked down at the necklace he gave me. He bent over and whispered in my ear, "It looks beautiful on you."
It sent shivers down my spine. I never knew it was possible to feel like this towards someone. Was I in love?
As Ross and I were having our moment, I felt another person looking at us. I looked over Ross's shoulder and saw her. She was really pretty and I could see the way she was looking at Ross. She had brown hair and brown eyes. She sat three seats away from us and stared at Ross longingly.
"Ross, why is she staring at us?" I pointed to the girl and he turned around to look at her. As soon as he did, he turned back towards me with a worried expression.
"Don't worry. It's just Molly. It's not a big deal." He didn't talk the rest of the period and just looked down. Molly was still staring at Ross. Who knows what that's about...
As soon as the bell rang, Ross was the first one out, dragging me with him.
"Ross what's wrong? You're acting like a crazy person!"
"Just don't worry about it, okay? I'm fine."
"You don't seem it." I said, disappointed.
He breathed deeply. "You're right. Babe, I'm sorry. I'm better now." He looked at me and smiled. He leaned in and kissed me next to my locker.
We smiled awkwardly while everyone was passing by us.
"Okay, ready for Chemistry? The teacher isn't the nicest, so I'm just going to head out to the car. I'll be waiting by your locker for lunch, okay?"
"Okay." I said back. He walked me to class. "I'll see you later, beautiful." He said to me. And with that, he left and I walked into class. Just to see... Molly.
The only seat open was next to her, so I went and sat, keeping my distance. While doing a lab, she looked and said to me, "So are you with Ross or something?"
Why was it her business? "Why does it matter?"
"Because we dated last year. All he did was use me. Then when I got pregnant he left the school to be homeschooled. Haven't heard from him since. Then he showed up to school with you. I'm just warning you."
My stomach sank. My heart stopped. Was it true?
"What?" I said back.
"You heard me. Watch out." The bell rang and everyone started filing out. I couldn't move, I was frozen. How could he do that to someone? Just leave them like that? What if he would do that to me in the future?
All these questions were rattling my brain as I got up and started towards my locker. I looked at my schedule and I had a free half hour before lunch. As I approached my locker, I saw Ross standing there. My face turned as pale as a ghost. Looking at him made me sick.
"Hey, babe! How was Chemistry?"
I looked up at him with tears in my eyes.
"Can you please take me home?"
"What happened, baby?"
"Just please take me home!" I sort of yelled. "And don't call me that."
"What are you talking about? Lexi, what happened?" Ross acted confused.
"Fine. I'll walk." I walked right past and and out the door. I heard him chasing after me, calling my name. That didn't make me stop walking.
A few minutes later, he caught up to me. By this point I was bawling my eyes out.
"Lexi, wait up!" He called after me. He grabbed my arm and spun me around.
"How could you?!?" I screamed at him.
"Lexi, I don't know what you're talking about." Ross said.
"Bull crap. I had a talk with your friend Molly. Why didn't you tell me? Ross, how could you do that to someone? What if it were me? How can I trust you?"
Ross was stunned. "Lexi, please let me explain. That is not what happened. Just come back to my house so I can explain everything. Please." Ross started to tear up.
"No." I said to him blankly.
"Okay, we'll go to your place then." He said.
"No we won't. I don't want to go anywhere with you! Daniel was right. You are trash. I never should have trusted you. Just leave me alone."
I took off the necklace he gave me and handed it to him. I walked away and he didn't follow me. I didn't care.
