Lexi's POV
As I was walking home alone, it started raining. It didn't matter, because I was already soaked from my own tears. When I first moved here, Ross became the only person I could trust. I can't exactly trust Molly either, but who would make up a story like that? It has to be true.

I sat in my room for days, staring off into space and crying myself to sleep. I haven't eaten. Occasionally I get up to use the bathroom. I have not went to school since the incident. I can't show my face to Molly and everyone else.

Ross never came to see me. I haven't heard from any of the Lynches in almost a week. It hurts, but I'm glad I found out now than in two years when I'm head over heels deeply in love with Ross.

It's Saturday. I'm sick of sitting in my room upset. I shouldn't be the one crying. So today I am leaving my bedroom and Cassy and I are going to the town's carnival. I hear it's one of the biggest and best in all of California. I'm excited to get out of the house and spend the night with Cassy.

So I put on a cute outfit, did my makeup, and walked downstairs. It feels good to join the real world again.

Cassy and I said goodbye to Mom and walked out the door. Our curfew is 10 o clock, so we have 4 hours to do everything there is to do.

After two hours of riding rides and eating funnel cake, we made our way over to the carousel. As we were waiting in line, Cassy said to me,
"Lexi, isn't that Rydel?" I looked over and saw the beautiful blonde. She was right. Rydel was here. That means Ross is probably somewhere near by.

I hurried Cassy along and got us on the horses for the carousel as fast as I could. We started going around in circles, and I tried not to make eye contact with Rydel. It didn't last long. She saw me and waved, and she knew that I saw her, so I had to wave back. As we spun around the circle again, I saw Ross standing next to her.

His face went from smiley and happy to flat and shocked. The ride soon came to a stop, and Cassy and I jumped off of our horses. We started to walk away from them when Ross called for me.

"Lexi! Please wait up."

Cassy looked at me and whispered for me to stop. I knew she was right, so I stopped in my tracks and faced Ross, who was catching up to us.

"Lexi, can we please talk alone for a minute?" He asked me.

"I'm sorry, Ross, but I'm here with Cassy. I can't just let her go off on her own." I tried to come up with an excuse.

Cassy joined the conversation.
"What are you talking about? You're only two years older than me! I'm 15, I'm fine by myself for a while."

I gave her a dirty look, and she looked back at me with the expression of just give him a chance to talk.

"Just text me where to meet you later." Cassy said, walking away.

"So, can we please talk now?" Ross said to me.

"5 minutes." I replied.

"Okay.. Would you join me on the ferris wheel for those 5 minutes?"
