Ross's POV
Not going to lie, I am nervous for Lexi to officially meet my family. I know I shouldn't be, because she has technically met them before. But it was like a two second conversation. And she hasn't met ... Ellington.Ellington was coming over today because Rydel and him were going on their date. But when Lexi and I got back after watching the sun rise, Rydel insisted they have dinner with us. So we were stuck with embarrassing Ellington. I love him to death, but I know he's going to tell Lexi embarrassing stuff about me.
Until around 11, Lexi and I sat on the couch playing video games. One by one everybody came descending down the stairs after waking up. Rydel was first. She started to talk to Lexi for a minute, so I ran upstairs to my bedroom to get the present I was going to ask her out with.
That's right. I'm finally going to ask her out. I have had a great time with her since she's moved here, and when she starts school next week, I want people to know she is taken. So I need to do this now.
"Hey, Rydel. Can I steal Lexi for a minute?" I asked as I slowly walked down the stairs, approaching the girls on the couch.
"Sure, little bro." Rydel winked at me and got up and left. I led Lexi out into the backyard. We sat next to the pool and talked about little things for a few minutes. Here I go, I thought. I stopped talking and just looked at her. She truly is beautiful. Her eyes sparkle at every glance and you can never get enough of her smile. She finally realized what I was doing and stared back. Seconds later, we were both leaning in. When our lips touched it was like fireworks...again.
Lexi pulled back and smiled. "Yeah." Was all she said. She didn't need to say more.
I pulled the sparkling necklace out of my pocket. I held it in my hand so she could see. It was a beautiful locket, and on the back I had them engrave a special message.
"Lexi, I want it to be you. Tell me, will it always be you?" She read the message aloud. Lexi looked up at me and smiled.
"So, Lexi. Will you go out with me?"
"I'd love to, Ross. Yes!" She smothered me into a hug and we sat there. I took the necklace out of her hands and unclasped it. She moved her hair out of the way, and I gently secured the locket around her neck. It made her eyes pop out even more, if it was possible.
"Thank you." She said to me.
"Anything for my girl." I smiled and said back. We kissed one more time before we walked back inside hand in hand.
~~~~~~~
The rest of the day went perfectly. Mark and Stormie love Lexi, and thankfully Ellington didn't do too many embarrassing things. I can tell Rydel and Lexi are going to get along really well. They planned a sleepover for this weekend before Lexi had to start school. It's going to be weird only seeing Lexi half the day. I don't like knowing she will be going to this new place, and since I'm homeschooled, I can't be there protect her. I know how guys my age are, and I don't want anybody trying to make a move on my girl.
So it is Thursday night. Lexi starts school on Monday. I told her I would drop her off and bring her home so we could have more time together. She loved the idea.
It is now Friday. Another day closer to Lexi starting school. She's coming over tonight to have a sleepover with Rydel and and the rest of us. I have been texting her all day, but I haven't seen her since I asked her out last night. I'm excited for her to come over. Now all I have is to hope Rydel can share my wonderful girlfriend with me this weekend.
