It Will Always Be You (Ross Lynch)

Chapter 15- What Now

Lexi's POV
Daniel. I completely forgot about him. We haven't talked since I got on the plane.

"Nice to see you, Lexi."

"Hey, Daniel."

"I haven't heard from you, so I wanted to come and see you. I've missed you so much." The shock faded away and I hugged him like I never wanted to let go.

"I've missed you too. I'm sorry I haven't called. Things have been a little ... hectic." I didn't think now was a good time to tell him about Ross. Whatever there was to tell.

"I understand. It must've been a lot."

"Yeah. So how long are you here for?"

"Until the end of summer. So, 2 weeks."

I've missed Daniel so much, I haven't even realized it. I invited him inside and Cassy ran over and hugged him, saying how much she's missed him. They were really close too, before we left.

After a few minutes, Daniel and I headed up to my room to catch up. It's unbelievable how amazing he is. We talked and laughed, then talked even more until my mom called me from the bottom of the steps.

"Sweetie, I think you forgot about something." She yelled up at me.

I thought for a minute then I froze. Crap.

Ross's POV
It was 10:45 so I started walking to Lexi's house. I didn't have anything planned for today, so I thought maybe she would come over to my house to hang out with my family while we rehearse.

I knocked on her door, and she didn't answer. Her mom did. It was strange, because Lexi always opened the door when I came over. Lexi's mom gave me a disappointed look and invited me inside. She walked over to the steps and called Lexi downstairs. Her face dropped when she saw me. It's like she completely forgot. She came down the stairs, walked over to me, and gave me a hug.

"Hey Ross." She said to me.

"Hey! Are you ready to go?" She just looked at me and frowned. At that second, someone came walking down the stairs. It almost looked like they were coming out of her bedroom.

"Who's this?" The guy said to Lexi.

"Daniel, this is Ross. Ross this is Daniel, my friend from back home." She explained to both of us.

"Oh." Was all I could say. I was confused.

"Ross, do you mind if I cancel today? He just got here and we want to catch up." She said to me.

I was a little angry. Lexi canceled on me last minute to hang with a guy that's known her since she was two. And it doesn't help that he isn't exactly an ugly human being. How am I going to compete with that? I'm not jealous... Am I?

I thought it was only fair to let her do what she wants. I can't force her into hanging out with me. But, I'm not giving up on the thought of Lexi and I together.

With that, I walked out the door and made my way back home. Rydel was in the kitchen when I got back.

"Back so soon?" She said to me.

"Yeah. Her friend from back home is here. So she canceled with me to spend the whole day with him." I was really bummed.

"Sorry little bro. How about we get your mind off of Lexi and go to the new club that just opened up?"

"Okay. But no drinking. If there's anyone there that is we're leaving. You know I hate being around that."

"Okay. No problem. There's no alcohol allowed in, anyways. But I promise. Should I ask everyone else?" She said.

"Yeah. That'd be good."

We left a half hour later. We all went to the boardwalk and out for dinner before we headed to the new club for the night. Since it opened last week, it has been all everyone is talking about.

You could hear the music blaring from a block away. The whole day, I have not thought about Lexi at all. I've been having a great time with my family.

At 8:00 sharp we walked in. This was going to be a fun night. Riker, Rydel and I stayed in a group while Ryland and Rocky went off on their own. We danced like idiots and were having the time of our lives. Until they walked in.

Lexi's POV
Daniel and I have been having a great time all day. I feel bad for ditching Ross last minute, but Daniel is only going to be here for a while. I hope Ross understands...

We went out for lunch and took a walk on the beach. During our conversation on the beach, Daniel brought up a great idea for the night.

"So, Lexi. On my way to your house today, I drove past a club. It looked really cool, and there was still a Grand Opening sign on the door. Since it's new, I figured you haven't been there yet. Before I go back home, I want to check it out." Daniel said to me.

"Yeah! Definitely! I drove past it the other day to when I was out with--"

I stopped myself before I would have to tell a story I didn't want to tell.

Daniel just laughed. "Well why don't we go tonight, then?"

I didn't have anything else planned, so I agreed. We were going to meet there at 8:45. We went our separate ways so we could get ready, being it was already 7. Tonight was going to be fun!
