April cursed her luck. It was Dew who visited the meet gala on behalf of Parker industries. He was busy attending some business meetings in the morning but made sure he is there for the gala after all it's an unofficial pitching place for projects and making connections.

June thought he had to clear the misunderstanding now that even Dew was here. If April's mother or grandmother hears this from Dew, it wouldn't look good.

"That..." before June gave any explanation April swiftly cut in.

"I'll tell you everything later Dew, we have to leave now" her voice hurried, she dragged June away from the place as fast as she can.

Looking at June's and Dew's reactions a smart woman like Julie already caught the scent of April's plan. She understood that April just wanted to make her regret leaving June.

She smiled shaking her head at April's childishness before turning her attention to Dew who stood astonished at the turn of events. "Mr. Mc Carthy, nice to meet you again" Julie leaned for a greeting hug.

"What are you looking at? Common let's go after April" Maddy elbowed Ace who was intently looking at Dew and Julie.

"I don't think we should follow them, let April and June talk this out" Ace proposed.

"Yeah you're right, let me leave her a message if she needs us, and done. Let's get out of here, it's just too stuffy in this formal atmosphere" said Maddy.

"You go first, I have something to take care of," Ace's expression was incomprehensible.

April and June settled down in a nearby pub. April started to look at the menu busily as if she is avoiding talking to June.

June took the menu card out of her hand and turned her towards him.

"I get what you're trying to do April, but trust me it is not necessary, " June looked straight into April's light eyes.

"June, you told me not to say anything back then and I didn't. But this time she's looking for trouble, and I'm going to be that trouble, I'm going to make sure she regrets it properly" April was fuming.

"April, I told you..."

"No more talking, about this time I'll deal with her that's it. Who does she think she is? Trying to break your heart again, I won't let it happen"

"It is not like that..."

"Don't tell me anything, also do you really hate even the idea of dating me?"

"I didn't say it..."

"If not, then let me handle it this time, you might have forgiven her, but I didn't. Promise me that you stay away from her and let me handle this. Promise me" April is not taking a no for an answer.

"That is not necessary, we don't have that kind of relationship anymore"

"That won't do promise me"

"Okay but.."

"You promised then. About Dew, I will take care of that, don't worry about mum and grandma, they know about us very well, I mean people think we are already married or something, so we don't need to care about the rumours." April said firmly.

June originally wanted to reprimand April further but now it is more important for him to let April participate in the event than anything else. He gave his word to April's mother that he'll make her ready by her birthday.

"But April, keep it within limits, anything more I'm not playing this game with you" June warned.

This time I shall teach that snake a good lesson. "Of course, June. No, of course, baby, what shall we have for dinner?" April's eyes twinkled stars.

"Is this really necessary that you call me that?" June looked like a lost puppy.

"Of course what else do lovers call each other, if you don't like baby, there is honey, sugar bear, cuddle bunny..."

"No...the first one's fine.." June felt like he is getting a stroke just by listening to April further.

Suddenly June's phone vibrated and he took the call with the utmost enthusiasm as if he is waiting for that call for a while.

"Who's it?" June couldn't help but ask.

"It's Ri, apparently Neil's been adjusting well, he's kept a good cash register practice today and didn't miss the timings to feed the pets"

Hmph, good for him otherwise I would have let him walk in trunks at the racing track.

"That's great! one person has come to his senses, now let's make the other come to their senses" April's eyes twinkled as she referred to Julie while June left a helpless sigh.

A pair of wolf like eyes flickered at a distance looking at April and June through the transparent glass in the pub.
