"I'm not one of your homeless dogs, I don't need your pity" he roared like a wounded Lion cub.

"Hmph the puppies are at least cute, you are just full of crap" April cut in.

While the duo is bickering June was busy signing the papers silently on the side.

"Young man, count this as your first warning, don't mess with those guys again" the police officer warned the teenager who roared earlier. He is precisely the part-timer Neil that June has fired earlier.

June knows Neil's dad is an alcoholic and her mother remarried someone else. It's Neil's aunt who pleaded with June to teach him skills so he can live on his own.

But Neil is an angsty teenager who wishes everyday that the world could just turn to ashes and turn himself in bad company. He never cared for the work in the store and the puppies almost were starved to death if June didn't return back in time and look for them. He couldn't accept such irresponsibility from him.

As of now, Neil has caught up with some bad guys and was in a fight. Given that they are all minors the police just gave a warning to their guardians. But Neil's father could care less so as his mother. His aunt is out of town and with no other option she called June for help.

"Who asked you to come here? I don't need your help" Neil flared up again.

"The word is thankyou and you are welcome, hmph!" April cut in. She just couldn't bear with that noisy mouth of Neil. She saw him a couple of times previously at June's store. She didn't have a particular impression of him but given that June has fired him, he must have not been the nicest person.

After finishing the formalities inside the police station Neil, June and April came out of the station.

"Have some food, sleep well and come to the store tomorrow" June shoved some money into Neil's pockets. Guessing from the fact, neither of his parents showed up June understood Neil might not have a place to go to. So he gave some money to get a hotel room.

Neil was about to say something rude again but looking at the stoic expression on June's face he couldn't dare to make any further remarks.

"Aye, see that ingrateful bas.." April stopped speaking mid-way knowing that June is not a big fan of profanity. "See, you are clearly trying to help him yet he is so rude, I wanted to kick him in the balls right there" she wrinkled her nose irritated.

"I told you not to follow me to the station" June shook his head.

"Of course I had to, you looked quite worried when you got the call, how can I leave you alone? Anyways leave it, let's brighten up our mood" April switched on the new racing movie she wanted to see for a while.

June knows April loves racing but she couldn't as of now so at least watching a movie should be allowed. Further, she is just trying to cheer him up. So he didn't say anything but just went along with it.

These days the weather is getting quite cold. The chilly autumn winds are giving tough competition to the old heater in the house. In the mansion, there is an expensive heating system to keep April warm all year along. But April didn't mind the slightly cold couch in June's little apartment. She nestled into the blanket and nudged cosily against June's shoulder.

Though June is not a lavish man he could clearly appreciate the soothing lavender scent from the expensive conditioner from April's hair. As a matter of fact, he liked the warm sensation that came from the near proximity of the two. But..but June felt their demeanour just now, it is too intimate. They were neither a couple nor had any sort of romantic feelings and it is inappropriate.

April never really cared for these things and she is quite open and free with any sort of physical contact with June. It has been like that since they were kids. But the thing is they are not kids anymore. June shoved her head away which is clinging onto his shoulder.

April is clearly displeased with such a sudden reaction. "June Egan, what are you doing?" she complained as if she's been wronged.

"Sit straight" he popped some popcorn into his mouth carelessly fixing his gaze on the movie in front.

"It is cold though, I like this way much better" she tried to nuzzle against his shoulder once again only that he dodged her attempt by moving forward. Her head leaned against thin air.

"I see, you asked for it don't blame me later" April stood up with a determined gaze.

Before June could reply April threw herself completely onto June and the popcorn box flew away in the air making a mess all around. Paying no heed to it, April is indulged in the troublemaking.
