"You're not going to tell June about this are you?" April shouted at the top of her lungs as it was hard to listen to anything amongst the roar of the winds. The rider in red didn't speak anything and raised the accelerator more as an answer. April left a satisfied smile.
As April's senses are surrounded with endless excitement she couldn't help but admire his talent. She has previously rode on this turf and she knows how careful one should be, one minute of carelessness can result in an irreversible tragedy. But the man in front of her defeated those dangerous curves and slippery slopes effortlessly. She thought her first impression of Roy wasn't wrong after all. The dangerous part of the track has been finished.
Just when April thought the rest of the race is a piece of cake the tires of the motorbike which are working tirelessly came to a screeching halt at once. It's a close call.
A white SUV stood still at a gap of a few inches from their bike.
A man in a white suit and made up hair got down the car. Sweat profusely formed on his forehead as his honeydew eyes looked restless and scared because of the accident which he almost caused.
"I am very sorry" his hands shook a bit as his eyes stuck to the ground.
Roy got off his bike swiftly as his long legs made a stylish arch. He took off his helmet and his dark eyes pierced into the honeydew eyes as if they were lasers as he sized up the opponent.
Dew felt as if he is in a hotpot. "I...I.." Dew didn't know what to say to the unformidable opponent as he found himself in a tensed void.
The red rider's rageful voice filled the void, "Don't you know this is a racing track? do you know how dangerous it is?" a nerve popped out on his forehead elevating the piercing near his eyebrow.
Seeing the tensed atmosphere she understood her timid half-cousin couldn't stand a chance before Roy and interfered in between them.
"Easy guys, Roy, you remember him right? my cousin Dew, you met him last time at the pet store! Please let it slide once. I'm sorry on his behalf." April tried to calm down the situation as the rage-filled black eyes are still fixated on timid honeydew eyes.
"What the heck happened? I was worried you got on the new rider's bike, I have never seen him in rolling mines before and was worried that he doesn't know the track well..." a lively yet agitated voice broke the tensed atmosphere. It's Ace who caught up soon along with Maddy.
"I know him actually, he is Roy, he works at June's pet store too" April replied casually.
"Shut up! For real? Hold up isn't that your cousin?" Maddy's attention shifted to the guy in the white suit. "What a small world" her plump lips threw out a wide smile.
"Indeed it is" Ace commented his gaze shifting between Roy and Dew.
"Now that we are all here why don't we go for some drinks?" Maddy invited excitedly.
"No...I have some work at the company" Dew tried to take a rain check.
"Common Dew, all you knew is work work work, it's Friday evening, common have some fun with us, besides it's Maddy's birthday today, I am not taking no for an answer" April invited by locking arms with Dew.
Before Dew could refute further Roy spoke in a deep voice "Let's keep moving, it will be dangerous if other riders get here with the car in the middle of the track" with an intense gaze.
Dew felt as if he is a robot and has no control over his body and just nodded his head as if he was instructed to. He never encountered a person with such a strong Aura before.
"Happy birthday baby girl" glasses clanked as the lights in the cosy tent lit vibrantly. The sounds of racing still can be heard from outside. April and the gang came back to the base of rolling mines to celebrate Maddy's birthday.
"I still can't believe that your parents have actually agreed for you to celebrate your birthday as this" April sipped on the beer merrily "it's so warm and cosy" she added.
Maddy, April and Ace being the billionaire heirs their birthdays were never meant for them. It is always a venue for their family businesses to grow. They are celebrated grandly where other billionaires attend to expand their networks, an opportunity to reevaluate and discuss their investment options. Even the charity they do on each of their birthdays is just indirect publicity that would help with their businesses.
"Well long story, but hey at least for once I get to do what I want to" she slurped on her beer.
Seeing that now Dew seems to be relaxed a little April questioned "Dew, you always drive carefully what were you thinking that you got on the racing track?"
Dew didn't say anything as he scanned the room uncomfortably and tried to loosen his necktie "that..um"
"Don't say that it's related to the company again" April rolled her eyes as if this is a common thing she has seen for years now and April is not wrong. Dew is older than April and entered the family business some odd five years ago.
Since that day he worked like a dog day and night trying to make his stepdad, Tim proud of him. Cuz he knows his one mistake means humiliation to his father at Mrs Parker's hands. The last thing he wanted to avoid and whenever he made a mistake he just couldn't take it off his mind.
Dew smiled wryly as his gaze fixed on Roy. Roy is an outsider and discussing the matters of the company in front of him is not a good idea according to him.
Observing the situation April commented "Common Dew, Roy is one of us, do you know that he saved me from a huge danger the other day, I almost died" April had an animated expression.
"What? What happened? Are you hurt anywhere?" Dew immediately held April checking on her worried.
"No, no I'm totally fine it's just a small accident at the pet store, you should have seen June's face, he couldn't sleep well two days straight after that. He thought I didn't notice but I knew that he was checking up on me during the night worried" an awkward smile with lots of care crossed April's mind. "Dew, please don't tell June that you saw me here today okay? He'd be so mad if he knows I'm here today, technically I didn't lie though as I did meet you today! "
Suddenly an agitated voice is be heard from outside and April knew very well who that voice belongs.
