"You're such a loser, Pinkie Pie was definitely the best pony." Evelyn declared in protest to Shay, who was hoping that people would agree with her point. Let's say that Shay was apt about Fluttershy being the 'obvious superior' as she called it. "That is completely false. What has gotten into you today?" Shay laughed, taking a quick look to the menu at the end of her sentence.

Prescott and I sat in awe at the fact that the conversation even struck in the first place. We had sat down at Becca's a few minutes ago. I wouldn't consider Becca's as the place we met, but as the way we all found each other.

Shay and I were the first to meet, I was around 12 and she was about 11 at the time. Her and her family had walked in, and I immediately took notice to the size of the family. Shay is 1 of 7 children, so they definitely wouldn't be hard to miss. She walked around the diner with a dainty cross-body purse flashing each time she turned. I complimented it and that was all it took for us to be best friends since then.

Prescott actually used to tattle on Shay and I in class a lot, so we resented him at first. Then we grew closer, and our 13-year-old brains forgot about all of it spent every second together. I'm sure that Evelyn kind of just merged into the group when Prescott first started liking her. When they started dating, we had already considered her one of us, so it was never a problem.

And that's about it. It's always been us. Shay, Prescott, Evelyn, and Cassidy or Cassie, I guess.

That's when we finally got a waitress. By then, Evelyn and Shay had calmed down their argument and decided that both of them were right. Our waiter was familiar, her name tag read Rachel, with a slight scuff at the end of the letter "L" at the end. "What can I get you all to drink?" The girl asked, flipping to the next page in her notebook to jot down our drinks.

"Well, I'll have a lemon water, and he'll have an orange soda." I replied, ordering for myself and then gesturing to Prescott when I ordered his drink. He always asked any of us to order for him since he can get nervous, I guess.

"I'll take a sweet tea please." Evelyn said to answer the waitress, her then jotting that one down, following ours.

"And a shirley temple for me if it isn't a problem, please." Shay addressed the waitress. The girl gave a delicate smile and assured us that the drinks would be coming out soon.

"So, Cass, got your eye on anyone lately? It's been a hot minute since we've discussed your tricky love life." Evelyn teased, bringing her fist to rest on the side of her cheek.

"Wow Ev, thanks for bringing that up. And no, everyone is this town is just... no." I responded, adding a disgusted face at the end, Evelyn looked offended. "How dare you! Look at all of these beautiful faces!" She exclaimed, gesturing to Prescott, Shay, and herself of course.

"Yeah, but it's not like I'm looking for anyone. You know that life at home is difficult, I can't focus on anyone else like that.

That would be right. My parents' kind of up and left one day about seven or eight years ago and left me with my little sister. Since then, we're taken care of by our Aunt Laura. Aunt Laura is great and all, but she likes for me to keep on a bit of her old job as a hobby. I'm sworn to secrecy and no one, even my friends, can know.
