< As the girls were Halloween shopping >

"Okay Wyatt, Millie's out so she asked me to take you home!" I said excitedly as I buckled him into his car seat.

"Yay for Wyatt!" He replied, waving his hands in the air as we both laughed.

When I finished buckling him in, I quickly got into the driver's seat and began driving to Millie's.

Some might think that I'm ignoring the Matthew situation, and that's because I am. So, as I knocked on the Walkers' door and was met with him, I hadn't a clue what to expect.

"Hello! You must be Camila's friend, Cassie. Thank you for bringing Wyatt home for us." The man thanked as I handed Wyatt's things to Matthew as Wyatt hugged my leg and ran inside.

"I love you, Wyatt! Also, it's no problem. It's nice to meet you." I said kindly, minding my tone towards him. I mentally rolled my eyes as he shook my hand and thanked me once again as he closed the door.

I drove the short drive back home and came back to an empty house, so I walked into my kitchen and decided to make myself a snack. I grabbed a banana and hopped up onto the counter, pulling out my phone and finding a contact I hadn't spoken to in a while.

𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘦𝘮𝘣𝘳𝘺 🍀: 𝘢𝘯𝘺𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦. 𝘴𝘰, 𝘸𝘦 𝘥𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘳𝘰𝘸?

I took a breath and a moment to think. If I do this, if I go through with this, then I'll never see myself the same. I've done a lot of things, taken in a lot of people, but none of them have ever been like this.

Putting away a few robbers and suspected murders came easy to me. That's when things were simple, insignificant. I loved the relief of knowing that I did something to help someone's life be a bit easier. 

Looking back, at everything, at the big picture, I know now that I was cheating myself. I was greedy. I wanted to be at the top, to be first in line, but I never knew that it could get to this point.
