"Millie hurry up! We're hungry!" I heard Sydney groan, pushing me under the blankets of my bed.

I got up and got dressed while Sydney went downstairs with Wyatt to start breakfast. He was insistent on pancakes and would accept nothing else. I decided on a blue top with light washed jeans.

"Morning to my favorite Cassie crusher!" Sydney laughed, flipping pancakes on the stove.

"Hmm, maybe so." I replied, getting the orange juice out of the fridge.

"Really? Omg yay-"

"I'm joking Sydney, get over yourself my god." I said as I poured the juice.

We spent the rest of the morning before school relaxing with Wyatt, then Sydney drove me to school as we belted songs in the car the entire way.

~~~~~
"Welcome back to your worst nightmare!" Cassie yelled as Sydney, and I walked up to the rest of the group that was standing at the entrance of the school.
"Don't remind me." Sydney rolled her eyes in annoyance, contrast to me who was fairly excited.
"Ew, why do you look excited Millie?" Cassie laughed, walking with me as we joined our friends.
Our friends. Felt nice to say that again.
"I don't know, it's just new, I guess. I'm a little excited."
"I'm happy if you are." She smiled, causing Sydney to nudge me while smirking. I brushed it off and began in light conversation with the group until the bell rang.
"Come with me Walker, we have our first class together!" Cassie exclaimed, putting her arm around me and leading us both to the class.
It's genuinely something about her. She might just be the new that I've been looking for.
"So how was everyone's day so far?" Shay asked us all as we sat at the lunch table together.
"Miserable, I mean what can you expect." Prescott said, eating a bite of his salad.
"I know it must've just been so terrible not seeing me for three whole hours." Evelyn said dramatically, leaning over to kiss Prescott.
"Aww guys, thanks for reminding me how single and lonely I am!" Sydney whined, setting her water back on the table.
"So, Millie, have your eyes on anyone yet?" Evelyn wondered; her fist relaxed underneath her chin.
Definitely.
"I don't know, not really." I answered, eating some of Sydney's strawberries she packed from home.
"Well, what's your type?" She asked, leaning in closer.
"Um, well..."
"Ev, leave her alone. You don't have to say anything you don't want to say Millie." Cassie chimed in, addressing Evelyn, then myself.
