"Does Wyatt like pancakes?" I asked, sitting him down at the table and walking to the kitchen.

"Wyatt loves pancakes so bad!"

"Perfect!" I smiled, beginning to make some pancakes for all of us.

Currently, Aunt Laura was away on a staff trip for Wintercrest, so Avery was at McKenzie's house so I wouldn't have to worry about picking her up while she was gone. Last night was, something. It was special to me, but I couldn't help but feel guilty for kissing Millie when she was upset with her dad. She probably wasn't in the right headspace.

I decided that letting Wintercrest go for a while might help me stress less about it. Aunt Laura's away so that means she'll come back with a job, or nothing. Trying to come to terms with the very real possibility that my last job could end up being the last one I ever do, it's difficult. On one hand, I don't want Wintercrest to forget about my work or what I do, but on the other, my life feels, content. I feel safe and happy. Millie's helped to bring out that side of me more.

Once the pancakes were finished, I took three plates out and started putting a few pancakes on the first two, then one cut up one for Wyatt on his. I grabbed the syrup and orange juice and set all of the plates on the table before quickly ruffling Wyatt's hair and running up the stairs to my room.

When I walked up, I saw Millie sitting at my desk while she wrote on a pink sheet of paper.

"Morning cuteness, what're you up too?" I questioned,  Millie's concentration turned into a small smile as she turned around to me.

"Just nothing." She smiled, quickly putting away the paper.

"I made pancakes for us downstairs, they're ready whe you are." I said as I turned to leave, but not before Millie stopped me.

"Can I take a shower?" She asked, looking down slightly.

"Of course, there's one right accross the hall, fresh towels and such are gong to be on the rack in there. Also, if you need anything, please ask okay?" I replied, awaiting her.

"Thanks C." She responded, getting up to take a few things out of her suitcase as I shut the door.

I walked back down the stairs and checked on Wyatt, who had gotten pancake all over his face and shirt. I wiped him up and sat him on the couch to watch a bit of TV as I went to go get ready. As I walked up the stairs I heard a loud noise and sprinted up the steps quickly, nearly falling on the way up.

"Millie are you okay? Open the door!" I yelled, scared to what could be wrong.

"I'm okay, I just dropped my suitcase on accident, everything's fine." She smiled, opening the door.

"Sorry if I scared you." I said, leaning against the doorframe.

"No you're okay, but can you help me?"

"Of course, anything." I replied, walking into the room.

"Can you help me pull this over my head?" She blushed, my own face starting to heat up.

I walked behind Millie and helped her pull the shirt over her head as she was scared to stretch her wound. I was visibly red the entire time, fighting to look her back in the eye. She smiled and took the shirt from me to put away.

"I'll be quick." Millie smirked, kissing my cheek and walking out of the room.

I took a breath, thankful she didn't seem to regret the kiss.
