"I'll only be a minute, okay?" Millie told me, about to get out of the car before I stopped her.
"No, let me do it. I have a tag; I'll go get him." I spoke.
"For the millionth time, I'm not made of glass Cassidy. I can get my own brother from daycare." She replied, rolling her eyes.
"Wow, I downgraded to Cassidy? No Cassie, no C? That's cold Walker."
"Okay shut up and go get him before I change my mind." She said, buckling her seatbelt back as I started getting out and walking towards the building.
Ever since Millie's accident, I been very careful about making sure she's safe. I've come to pick up Wyatt from daycare every day, so Millie doesn't have to worry about getting him. Since the people saw me coming there so often, they gave me a little identification tag, that pretty much assigns me to come and pick him up.
I excitedly walked inside, seeing Wyatt playing off with his little friends.
"You're here for Wyatt?" The lady at the front desk asked as I showed her my tag. It took a few minutes, but he took his things and came running out towards me.
"Cassie!" Wyatt yelled as I picked him up, my arm finally better enough to do so. Millie also had a cut on her stomach which made it difficult for her to pick him up at times. She was slowly healing, but healing, nonetheless.
I brought him back to the car quickly, buckling him in his seat that I also helped Millie to move to my car. I got in and Millie gave us both a smile.
"So, Wyatt, how would you feel if Cassie and Millie took Wyatt to get a surprise today?" Millie asked the small boy, looking back to see his response.
"Oh, definitely good!" He says, earning a shocked look from Millie and myself.
"Where did you learn that big word Wyatt?" I wondered, keeping my eyes on the road.
"I think Layla." He laughed, going on to talk about his day at daycare and his new friend Layla.
I tried to stay focused as much as possible on driving. I was extremely careful every time I went for a drive, especially when I took Millie somewhere. She's still shaken about the whole accident, which is understandable. My main focus is trying to get Millie back on her feet and to make myself a name in Wintercrest.

"Can I please have two apple pie cookies, and one smiley face cookie?" I kindly asked the lady at the counter, Wyatt super excited for his cookie.
"Here you go! Have a lovely day!" The woman smiled, handing me the cookies as I paid.
"I could've paid for Wyatt and I's Cassie." Millie said, holding Wyatt's hand.
"I know, but I wanted to, it's okay." I replied, putting my wallet back and bringing them over to a table, grabbing a highchair for Wyatt as we all sat to try our cookies. I handed Wyatt his cookie which he immediately started devouring, while Millie looked skeptical.
"Trust me, just like your coffee I promise. This is what winning tastes like." I promised, referring back to when Millie force-fed me some of her intricate coffee order. She hesitated, giving me a look.
