*TWO MONTHS LATER*

"Bye Evelyn!" I smiled as she exited my car and waved goodbye as her mom opened the door.

"Byeee!" Millie yelled, laughing up a storm in the passenger seat, clearly drunk.

"Are you ready to go home now?" I asked, pulling out of Evelyn's driveway and beginning to drive back to the house.

"Go where?" She laughed, looking at herself in the rearview mirror and making faces.

"We're going to go home Millie. It's almost 11 and we said we'd be home by 10:30." I sighed, focusing on the road until Millie took my hand that was rested on the center console.

"I love you, Cassie." Millie said, kissing the top of it.

"I need both hands to drive Millie." I said worriedly, the car accident from nearly a year ago still at the back of my mind as I took away my hand.

"But you didn't say I love you back! When someone says I love you, you have to say I love you back." Millie whined, turning over to face the window.

"I love you, Millie. I just want to get you home safe, okay? We're going to be there in five minutes." I assured her. No response was heard, but soft breathing was, signaling she was asleep.

As we pulled into the driveway, I turned off the car and walked over to her side of the car.

"Millie, c'mon let's go inside." I said, shaking her lightly and pulling some hair behind her ear.

"No please." She whispered, turning over to the other side.

"I'll let you hold my hand when we get inside okay?" I smiled, to which she quickly perked up, still sleepy. I helped her stand enough and she then immediately fell into me.

"Carry me?" She asked, wrapping her arms around my neck softly.

"Come on." I giggled as she jumped up and wrapped her legs around my waist.

I walked all the way up to the door before knocking to see Aunt Laura in her pajamas looking at us like a deer in headlights.

"Curfew was nearly 45 minutes ago, where were you guys?" She asks sleepily, rubbing her eyes.

"Millie drank and we had to drop off Evelyn and Millie fell asleep-"

"It's okay, have you talked to her about-" Aunt Laura started before I cut her off.

"No, but I think I might tomorrow." I sighed, walking up the stairs, Millie holding onto me tighter as we entered our room. I made an attempt to lay Millie down on the bed, but she held on.

"Just, hold me."

"Okay." I whispered.

Millie's been like this for a while.
