Brianna and Alex sat down on the sand together, looking out at Lauren, and Kalyani, who were together on the fishing boat, watching Jonah try to use the Hawaiian sling to catch some fish. "Alex, I feel like we should talk," Brianna prompted.
"Sure," Alex agreed. "What's up?"
"Have we, like... drifted apart? At all?" Brianna asked.
"Uh... I don't think so," Alex exclaimed. "Why would you say that?"
Brianna (Shin Maw Tribe): I don't feel like I'm as close to Alex as I have been before. I don't know if he feels close to Victoria, and she's spreading rumors about me... but whatever it is, I really just don't want to split apart from someone who could be a great ally for me in this game. So I wanted to come forward and just ask him about it.
"I just—I don't know... I feel like we don't talk as much anymore," Brianna said.
"Oh..." Alex said apologetically. "Maybe we don't. I didn't mean to give off the impression that we're not allies anymore."
"Has Victoria been telling you things about me at all lately?" Brianna asked, brushing off Alex's statement.
Alex paused for a second, fabricating the impression that he was trying to remember anything bad Victoria said about Brianna to him—which there was a lot of. "No, she seems to have calmed down after what happened," Alex lied.
"She has?" Brianna asked. "Well... do you think she'd be open to working back together?"
"Maybe," Alex exclaimed.
"I just don't want this whole alliance to fall apart," Brianna said, "because I still want to work with you guys."
Alex looked at Brianna meaningfully. "Yeah, and I want to stick with you too," he lied.
Alex (Shin Maw Tribe): Brianna came to me this morning and asked about if Victoria was saying things about her. And, I just became allies with Victoria, like, a day ago or something. And as far as I'm concerned, Brianna is dead to me right now. So I just lied to her... and if she bought it up, then she better be ready for a nice little betrayal very soon.
"Okay, thank you for being honest," Brianna said. "I appreciate it."
Alex smiled. "I'm glad we could talk about it," he told Brianna. The two of them hugged, although it was an awkward one-arm side hug instead of anything genuine.
Brianna (Shin Maw Tribe): Of course, Alex decided to use the opportunity to blatantly lie to my face, instead of trying to rebuild a genuine relationship. Like, does he not realize that this is the worst thing he could have done in that conversation? Lie to me? He has NO allies besides MAYBE Victoria. And now he has someone who's gunning for him—me.

Jonah resurfaced from being underwater, and lifted the Hawaiian sling out of the water with a prideful look on his face. Sure enough, impaled by the end of the sling was shiny fish with murky green scales—a trout—and that fish now belonged to Shin Maw. "Oh my god, another?" Kalyani exclaimed.
"You're actually so good at this," Lauren said.
"Thanks," Jonah smiled. "You guys should try...."
"Hmm... how about I don't?" Lauren joked.
"Come on, it's fun!" Jonah exclaimed.
"I might try later today," Kalyani interjected. "It seems really cool."
Kalyani (Shin Maw Tribe): Today, Jonah caught a fish. And, honestly, every time he catches a fish, it gives him brownie points from me secretly. I love it when he catches the fish, because it makes the whole eating situation a lot easier for me. In this game... you REALLY don't get a lot to eat. I'd really like to get the chance to eat some real food, but for now, this is gonna have to do. And I'm definitely okay with Jonah's fishing skills. He probably does this at home all the time.
