One by one, we all flood into the cabin. Our bags are all carelessly being pulled behind us as we file into the foyer of Adrian's family cabin.
Mark is the first one to make it to the living room and on the couch as we all shuffle our way through the cabin.
He groans as he throws himself onto the couch, smiling to himself when he starts to sink into the cushions. "Shit, this is comfortable." He chuckles, his eyes falling shut to savor it.
Amy squeals as she launches herself towards her boyfriend, landing on top of Mark. Mark coughs when she lands right on his chest, but he laughs it off and wraps his arms around her body.
Adrian rolls his eyes at them as he walks behind the couch they're on. He throws his bags as well as Kat's on a different couch. "Get a room." He teases.
I raise a brow at him. "You can't seriously be the one telling them to get a room." I laugh, hauling my bags over. "Weren't you and Kat the ones practically fucking on the way here?" I question, reminding them of the horrible car ride they made on the way here. I should've shared a car with Mark and Amy instead of Adrian and Kat.
All Adrian does is smile in response, accepting the kiss Kat presses onto his cheek. They seem to share this horrible memory with each other like they're fond of making me uncomfortable for hours.
I know for a fact I'll be the third wheel for this entire trip. I knew that going into it, of course. But this was better than staying home while all friends went out together. Anything is better than staying home.
Mark sits up, tightening his grip on Amy as he does so to take her with him. "All right, there's three rooms for the three couples, right?" He asks, glancing at Adrian for confirmation.
I shake my head. "No, two couples." I correct, holding a single finger in the air.
Mark's eyebrows bunch together. He shakes his head at me. "Three." He counters. "Me and Amy, Adrian and Kat, and you and Peter." He explains, nodding like he's correct.
Slowly, my gaze turns to Adrian. Adrian grins at me. "I thought you'd be cool if you had someone with you like the rest of us do." He reasons.
I frown at him. "You invited Peter?" I ask, quiet and a little disappointed. "Peter Donavan from high school?" I clarify, cringing. Maybe it's a different Peter. There's a ton of guys named Peter in town.
Adrian nods, grinning still. "Yeah. I thought you'd be happy about it." He chuckles, shrugging it off like it's nothing. "Chicks love football players." He adds, glancing to the others for help.
I sigh. "Football players are nice, I guess." I mumble, scratching the back of my neck. "But we graduated, like, forever ago. He still talks about 'that one game'." I mock Peter by deepening my voice, holding up air quotes.
Mark shrugs it off. "It was a good game." He reasons, smiling at Adrian. They both played football with him. Amy and Kat sort of just shrug, clearly just agreeing to support their boyfriends. I can't blame them.
Rolling my eyes, I dismiss it. "Whatever." I grumble. "Do we have stuff for, like, dinner?" I ask. Instead of waiting for a reply, I navigate through the cabin to find the kitchen. Everyone else joins me, sticking close by as I search for it.
