"Greyson,"
"No," I dismiss her and tuck my head under my pillow to hopefully get her to leave me alone for at least five more minutes.
She shakes my shoulder. "Grey,"
"Fuck off, Sophia."
Sophia scoffs at that and drops her palm onto my pillow above my head.
"Ow."
Sophia grumbles something and starts shifting on the bed. I lift my head out from under my pillow when she slips under my arm, hiding there.
She finds a space in my chest that she deems a good spot and slithers her way in.
I huff out a quiet laugh. "What're you doing?" I ask, lifting my arm while she still tries to get under it.
"Trying to get you up."
"You're not doing a very good job."
"Seems like I am." Sophia argues. She pushes further against me, burying herself. It's like she's trying to get under me.
She's trying to roll me over. I scoff and stand my ground, dropping my arm back down to lay down on her. She squeals and shoots back before I suffocate her.
I smile to myself and close my eyes to go back to sleep. She does her best to roll me over, but ultimately fails.
She's not even trying.
I sigh deeply before I start to force myself to sit up in bed. Sophia scowls at me. "Fine." I reluctantly agree. "There's a lake we can hike to." I offer. "You wanna do that?"
Sophia frowns. "Yeah," She mumbles. I nod and get up off the bed. "I can't." She quickly adds. I pause and look at her. "I'm still on my period." She reminds.
I groan quietly and glance around my room like I'll find something for her. "Well," I mumble. "You haven't started your garden." I remind, holding my hands out with a smile. "You could do that."
She frowns still. "By myself?"
I roll my eyes. "The coyotes are going to keep their distance and the sun is still up. You're fine."
Sophia hums to herself. "You know, I found some bunnies out there last night." She smiles.
"Last night? When did you go out?"
"While you were sleeping. Like, two."
I frown. "It's not really safe to be outside so late." I mutter. I'm joking about the coyotes, but other animals won't be as scared to be closer.
Not to mention there are still hikers that stumble by every now and then. I'm not sure if she'd run into someone so late, but you never know.
"I wasn't out for long."
I give my head a short shake to dismiss it. "You'll be fine. The sun's still out and you can call for me if you need something." I reason. "Just leave the back door open." I add, shrugging at her.
