Later, the three of them entered the cafeteria.
"Lunch, the 2nd most important meal of the day." Luz commented.
"Especially with the ones you love." Boscha added.
"You two are just something else." Amity said.
"We know." They said as they entered the lunch room.
They got their cafeteria food or brought bag lunches and headed over to the table where their friends sat. Luz was a little happy, because today was the day the cafeteria serves live squid, was it weird, yes, but it tasted so good. Boscha and Amity were a little... disturbed.
"Oh, you look delicious." Luz said, looking at her food.
"I still can't believe you eat that." Boscha said to her.
"I once entered a tentacle eating contest and won. Plus, on Earth, we have many dishes that include fried squid or octopus called "calamari."" Luz said.
"Yeah, but that's not fried." Boscha said, "That's still breathing."
Luz stabbed it with a fork and put it in her mouth.
"Not anymore."
Everyone at the table shivered at this, seeing how savage Luz was when eating live squid.
'Where did she learn this?' They thought before remembering what Luz told them of a demon named Adegast that Eda ate whole.
"I'm not kissing you." Boscha said.
"You'll crack in ten minutes." Luz said.
Luz ate and swallowed her squid quickly before wiping her lips with a napkin like a proper lady, when in reality the way she ate that squid was anything but proper.
"Plus, the ink inside makes a surprisingly good cream filling." Luz said.
"I'm scared of Luz a little now." Gus whispered to Skara.
"Join the club." Skara whispered back.
"You're scared of her now, because of a squid? She has a gigantic weapon on her at all times." Boscha said.
"So do we." Amity said to Boscha.
"But we don't have to worry about you using them on us." Skara said to them. "And what makes Luz scary right now, it's how savage she can eat right now."
"Hey, I'm just getting more accustomed to the food here." Luz said.
"That doesn't mean you have to eat uncivilized." Amity said to her.
"Sometimes, I think it's necessary. I don't know WHAT will try to eat me here. A doorbell tried to eat me the second day I got here." Luz said to them.
"What?" The table said.
"WHAT!?" Boscha and Amity said.
"Yeah, didn't I tell this? I was delivering potions for Eda and when I got to a house, the second I pushed the door fell, it turned into a mouth and slowly sucked my arm in." Luz said as she shivered a bit. "First time I can say a house tried to eat me. Actually, does Hooty count?"
"Where was that house?" Boscha asked, suddenly holding her swords.
"Boscha, calm down." Amity said.
"Don't look at me like that. I can tell you're just as angry as me, you wanna burn that house down too." Boscha said to her.
"Boscha, getting angry won't solve anything." Luz said.
"Maybe not but it will help me feel better." Boscha said as she spun her blades bit.
Luz grabbed Boscha's swords and turned them back into earrings.
"You need to not do that." Luz said, "Isn't the whole point that no one knows about that."
"No one was watching." Boscha said as Luz put her earrings back on for her.
"Still, you need to calm down. I'm here and I'm fine." Luz said.
"It's not fine if you talk about almost getting eaten so casually." Boscha said as Amity agreed.
"Wait, is that not common here? Because I've seen Eda eat living demons."
"It's a little different concerning the types of demons, Luz." Willow said to him.
"Well-"
"Luz, how about we not talk about this while eating?" Skara, who arrived just in time to hear about what can eat you.
"Please." The rest of the table said to her.
"Fine." Luz said, putting another squid in her mouth.
Everyone shivered a bit at how savaged Luz ate the squid, ignoring its squeals as she chewed it and sucked it down.
"Ah, I would fit in with Japan." Luz said.
"Japan?" They asked.
"Different country in my world. Think of it like another Titan corpse on the other side of the world." Luz said as she wiped some ink off her lip with a napkin.
Boscha shook off her disturbance.
"So, Amity, can I talk with you in private?"
"Sure." Amity said with a nod.
Amity and Boscha moved away from the table.
"Alright, we need to make sure that Luz doesn't get distracted on the way there."
"You mean from anything that could eat her or anything that could make her want to go somewhere else instead of "dress shopping?" Amity asked.
"Both." Boscha replied as Amity nodded in agreement. "She needs this, and we don't need anything to happen that could make her guilt/trauma worse."
"I know." Amity said.
The two turned back to the table to see their girlfriend laughing a bit from a joke Gus told her, looking as she naturally should. Happy and innocent, not sad and guilty. That can change the second she's reminded of Lilith, they hate how she acts as if she somehow is responsible, how by some twisted fate, she was the one that fired the arrow. In her mind that seemed to be the case.
'We need to help her keep that mindset away.' They both thought.
"You know this could go wrong in so many ways, right?" Amity thought.
"I know, but we don't have any other option."
The two girls walked back to the table to continue with lunch and thought of ways to keep Luz calm for after school. Hopefully dress and suit shopping will put her at ease enough.
