As predicted, Winnie is tired. My neck aches from sleeping on the sofa but it had to be done or I'd probably end up yelling at Jack, waking Winnie up which would mean she would be even more tired this morning.
- y/n : Come on bug. Just one more spoonful
- Winnie : I want to go back to sleep
- y/n : Please. Work with me today. You haven't eaten much for breakfast
- Winnie : No Mom. I want to sleep

- y/n : Right. Go get your stuff together. We've got to go to the hospital because I have paper work
- Winnie : But I want to sleepppp
- y/n : Take a blanket and I'll let you curl up on the sofa in my office
- Winnie : Really?
- y/n : Yes. Just remember this for next time your Dad lets you have candy for dinner and stay up late which hopefully he never ever does again
It's just paperwork today so I can sit with Winnie and don't have to ask someone to babysit her while I'm in surgery.
- Amelia : Doctor Jones
- y/n : Paperwork already in my office? Great
- Amelia : I feel like maybe we got off on the wrong foot
- y/n : You think?
- Amelia : Yes. I want to be your friend. It's just I wasn't having a good day on your first day and the heavy metal guitar playing wasn't doing great
- y/n : Sorry. That was Winnie. She had the day off at school and I just thought it would be easier to let her blow off steam in my office. I'll tell her she can't play-
- Amelia : It's fine. Just a little pre-warning would've been nice
- y/n : You got it
- Amelia : The paperwork is on your desk. I'll come check on you later

AMELIA'S POV
Meredith, Maggie and Link decided they had to talk some sense into me about being nice to Y/n so that's what I'm doing it.
- Maggie : Have you seen and apologised to Y/n yet?
- Amelia : Yep
- Maggie : Amelia
- Amelia : Okay I didn't apologise but I did make things right
- Link : Did you?
- Amelia : Yeah. I told her I'd be over to check on her in a bit
I'm being nice. They seem shocked that I'm doing what they actually asked. I'll be honest, she seems like a nice person but it also seems like everyone is hyping her up and that she's kind of overrated to me.

When Doctor Shepherd said paperwork I didn't know she meant so much. Winnie is tossing and turning on the sofa so I know she's awake and she'll find some way for it to be my fault.
- Winnie : I can't sleep
- y/n : Because you're talking
- Winnie : Mommmm
- y/n : What do you want me to do bug?
- Winnie : Play some music on your phone. It works when I can't sleep during the night. I get up and turn the radio in my room on
- y/n : That's why it's on when I get you up some mornings. Alright I'll put some music on
I've been dodging my Dad's messages. It's easier to pretend my family doesn't exist sometimes but I also know I have to reply or he'll turn up out of the blue.

Great. That means I have to make dinner for seven people, the three of us that live at the house and the four people coming over.
- Amelia : How's it going?
- y/n : Good. Didn't realise it was this much paperwork?
- Amelia : Yeah- sorry. I didn't realise your daughter was asleep in here
- y/n : Yeah, her father fed her candy for dinner and let her stay up late so she didn't sleep well
- Amelia : Oh no. I'm glad Scout isn't old enough for Link to do that
- y/n : You have a kid?
- Amelia : Yeah. Scout Derek Shepherd-Lincoln. He's a year old
- y/n : Cute. Winnie is 7 although she acts like she's 17
- Amelia : So does my niece Zola. She's 11 but acts 21
We're getting along. I didn't see this happening. I saw her as being the boss that I'd hate the whole time I'm here.
- Amelia : The sooner you get that paperwork done the sooner you can go home
- y/n : Yep. I've got a dinner to cook
- Amelia : People coming over?
- y/n : Yeah, my family. I kind of ignored my Dad's messages so now everyone's coming over tonight
- Amelia : Have fun
I need to figure out what to cook for dinner and finish this paperwork.
- Winnie : Mom? Are you done yet?
- y/n : I've got a couple more pages and then we can leave
- Winnie : Can we go see Auntie Maya?
- y/n : We've got to get to the shop and then home because we've got people coming over
- Winnie : Can't you drop me off at the station, go do the shopping and then pick me up in the way home?
- y/n : Maybe. I'll think about it
It would be easier if I dropped her off at the station but I don't want to burden Maya or anyone there because they have work to do.
- y/n : I'm done. Let's pick up your stuff and on the way out I need to chuck the paperwork into my bosses office
- Winnie : Can we go see Auntie Maya?
- y/n : Yes but if she's busy then you've got to come with me.
- Winnie : Okay. Deal
She has so much energy now. She probably won't sleep until late, especially considering my family is coming over.
