It's definitely awkward. Amelia has had me on my feet all day doing rounds or even surgery. I've had two short surgeries and so many consults.

- Lexie : You look exhausted

- y/n : I am.

- Lexie : What's up?

- y/n : Jack normally texts me when Winnie get's to the Station but he hasn't text me. I think he's mad at me for walking out last night which he has every right to be

- Lexie : You had the right to walk out. I walk out after arguments with Mark all the time. Lucky for me Callie and Arizona live across the hall

- y/n : I just can't wait to get back to my office.
my feet haven't ached this badly since I was a resident, maybe my last few weeks of pregnancy. That was painful

- Lexie : Go rest, catch up on paperwork. If anyone asks I'll tell them you're busy

- y/n : You're a lifesaver. Thank you. I owe you big time

I need to sit down. When I unlock that door and can finally sit down then there's a chance I might fall asleep.

- Nurse : Doctor Jones?

- y/n : Yeah?

- Nurse : A man dropped these off for you earlier

- y/n : Thank you

Jack got flowers delivered to the hospital. It's a nice gesture but it doesn't repair what happened. I walked out, like a dick. He disappeared, like a dick. We need to sort ourselves out without hurting Winnie.

Winnie got to the Station and I just have to hope that Jack isn't making snarky comments so that Winnie picks up on the tension between us.

- Amelia : Why are you sat down in here? Hands are needed in the pit

- y/n : Please just give me half and hour to sit down, do some paper work

- Amelia : No

- y/n : I get that you're my boss but I have been stood up since 5:30am because that's roughly the time you kicked me out of your room. It's now 7pm. I do surgeries longer then that but that's standing in one spot. I have been all over the hospital today

- Amelia : Where does the accent come from?

- y/n : Can I stay here or not?

- Bailey : Jones, thank you for pitching in today, you can go home now it's quietening down. You too, Shepherd. Grey is staying for the night shift so you two can spend time with you children

I hate her. She never acts one way with me. Everything has an alternative meaning. One minute she's nice and we're watching films together, the next she's got me on my feet all day and won't let me rest for half an hour.

- Amelia : Do you want to go out for a bite to eat? I know this really good place-

- y/n : Can you stop being so hot and cold? Either be nice or be a bitch

- Amelia : I'm sorry. I didn't realise. It's just this morning we were so close but we barely know each other

Why's she apologising? I'm not listening to anything she's saying. Her eyes are really blue.

- Amelia : Do you want to grab a bite to eat?

- y/n : I can't. Not tonight. I have to get home and sort things out with my fiancé because the wedding is getting closer

- Amelia : Oh right

- y/n : Text me and we'll make plans?

- Amelia : Alright

The radio really isn't doing anything for the anxiety of going home. I have no clue what I'm walking into and the radio is playing sad music.

- y/n : I'm home

- Winnie : Mom! I missed you and I had a nightmare last night but Auntie Maya sat with me until I was ready to go to sleep again

- y/n : I know, she told me. Where's your Dad?

- Winnie : He's cooking dinner for you. I've already had dinner. Dad said that I need to be good tonight so he can stop making you mad

- y/n : You can still sit with us. I like having you around

- Winnie : Okay. I have maths homework to do later. Can you help?

- y/n : Of course I can bug. Go get it out, I'll come to your room in a minute after I go see your Dad

Here goes nothing.

- y/n : Hi

- Jack : I'm making us dinner. I've already made Winnie's dinner and cleaned up, she's showered and her lunch for tomorrow is ready. She just needs your help with her maths homework

- y/n : Thank you

- Jack : I'm sorry about like the last week. I just-

- y/n : It's okay. We can talk about it over dinner. Can I have a hug?

- Jack : Yeah

I've missed him. The whole wedding planning thing has changed us. I don't have all he what's happening but he does and I guess that might be stressing him out.

- Jack : I love you, so much. I'm sorry that I didn't come home and the whole thing with the night you went out

- y/n : I love you too. I've missed this, being close to you

- Jack : I've missed having you close to me. Can I kiss you?

- y/n : Mhm

It feels different. I can't tell if it feels wrong or if it feels right. I guess we'll see.
