YOUR POV
Turns out Maya is on a call but Travis is at the station and he wants to spend time with Winnie so it's a win-win situation.
Jack
Jack
Are you still mad at me? xxI'm sorry xx
Y/n
My family is coming for
dinner. Can we drop this
while they're here? I don't
need them getting involvedJack
So you are still madY/n
Jack please. You know what
my family is likeJack
I'll act normalY/n
Thank youAs long as my family think my life is okay for a night then it'll be fine. If they think my life isn't okay then they won't leave me alone and I don't need them intruding in my life right now.
- Travis : You weren't gone long
- y/n : I didn't need to get much. You ready to go Winnie?
- Winnie : I need to go get my drawing
- y/n : Go get it then
- Travis : Is everything okay at home? Jack was in a bad mood this morning and Winnie said you were arguing last night
- y/n : She heard? Fuck. Of course she did.
- Travis : Hey, calm down. What were you arguing about?
- y/n : It was a petty argument. Jack let Winnie stay up late and have candy for dinner, I had been out drinking and had asked him to do two things while I was out, make dinner and get Winnie to bed on time. I got home and he was asleep but Winnie was running around. I slept on the sofa because I was mad
- Travis : Oh shit. I mean, stand by your word
- y/n : Tonight the argument has to go on hold because my family is coming to visit. I'm just stressed and I'm venting. WINNIE?
- Winnie : I'm back. Look Mom. Look at my drawing
- y/n : It's beautiful bug. We can put it on the fridge when we get home
I have so much to do. Start prep for dinner, clean the house, have a shower, put on clean clothes and finish cooking dinner. All while keeping Winnie preoccupied.
- y/n : Who's parked on our dr- great. They're here already
- Winnie : Who?
- y/n : Uncle Scott and Chloe. Just great
- Winnie : Uncle Scott is here? UNCLE SCOTT?
- Scott : Come here munchkin. You've gotten tall
- Chloe : It's great to see you again Y/n
- y/n : Scott looks like Lewis
Scott is my older brother and Chloe his wife. They're great, I love them both so much it's just they're very chatty and I find myself getting tired very early with them. They're great for each other in the fact they both talk so much. Scott is 10 years older then me but we weren't close until I was 8. I was closer with Lewis, our other brother, for the first 8 years of my life but that might just have been the fact the age gap was smaller. Lewis was only 8 years older then me.
- Scott : You smell Y/n
- Chloe : That's rude babe
- y/n : Some of us work in a hospital. You sit in an office all day
- Scott : And yet I earn almost as much as you
- y/n : That's what you think. I just spend and save my money more effectively then you
- Winnie : Look at my drawing Uncle Scott. I did it at Dad's work with Uncle Travis
- Scott : I still think it's weird that she calls everyone at Jack's fire station Uncle or Aunt
- Chloe : Stop judging. When's Jack going to be home?
- y/n : Soon
I just need to pretend like I'm not mad at Jack for one night. We do it around Winnie so we should be able to get through a dinner with my family.
- Winnie : Come see my room Uncle Scott. I want to show you my new bed covers. They have rockets on them
- Scott : Well I can't miss that. Lead the way munchkin
- Chloe : How are things going here? Have you and Jack got a wedding date yet?
- y/n : Yeah. October 4th at the fire station. Our friends are planning it
- Chloe : Short notice. Don't you want a bigger wedding?
I'm unsure if I want any wedding.
- Chloe : I know that look. My friend Carla had that look right before she left her husband. Are you going to leave Jack?
- y/n : No. We're just in a little argument over nothing
- Chloe : I was going to say. You got yourself a good one, don't let him go
How can I let him go? I have his daughter to think about.
- Tim : Y/n? You home?
- y/n : Hey Dad. If I wasn't home the door would be locked.
- Ernie : No hello for your dear Pa?
- y/n : I missed you too Pa. Let me get changed and then I'll give you a hug. I smell like hospitals at the minute
I love my Dads. Growing up with gay Dads was fun. Except for the part where I was the only girl in the house. Having 'the talk' with my Dads was so awkward and everyone is so protective. It's like I'm not an adult sometimes.
- y/n : Come here Pa
- Ernie : You were ignoring your fathers messages
- y/n : I have a busy life. I've recently started at a new job and I'm also raising a child
- Tim : You have a fiancé to help and you know that me and your father are just on the other end of the phone if you need help
- Chloe : Well I think Y/n's doing a great job
- Ernie : Where's everyone else?
- y/n : Scott and Winnie are in Winnie's room and Jack is at work. He should be home soon
As I previously said, I love my Dads. It's just they're overbearing sometimes. I understand why, I'm the youngest and only daughter but sometimes they act like I'm still 12.
