The next morning Pansy and I sat at breakfast. The boys hadn't arrived yet, so it was just the two of us.

Later when they did, Pansy and I decided to just stay with them. We were almost finished eating but it was fun with them, and we didn't really have anything else to do.

They sat down in front of us.

I saw a first-year with the newspaper who was pointing at me while whispering to his friends.

I got up and walked towards him.

"Hi, I have no idea who you are. But can I have the newspaper?" I asked.

He and his friends looked at me like I would cruciate them any minute.

"I'm not going to kill you." I laughed.

He handed the newspaper to me and I walked back to my friends.

"Cedric Diggory's secret lover, Y/n Snape, finds herself in a difficult love triangle. The girl was caught kissing at the Yule Ball with Draco Malfoy. We have no word on how Cedric feels about it. " I read out loud.

The four of them looked at me, and then at each other. It took a minute before they bursted out laughing.

"Merlin, I swear I hate that woman." I said.

Then the boys stopped laughing and looked behind me. Pansy looked over her shoulder and then cleared her throat.

I turned around to see my father standing there. He looked just as grumpy as ever. But this time it was slightly different. His eyebrows where raised as if he just heard something he didn't believe.

"Hi." I said.

"Excuse us." He said as he walked away expecting me to follow him.

I shot my friends a worried look and then got up and ran after him.

"What's wrong?" I asked when I walked through the door, around the corner where he was waiting.

"What's going on between you and Malfoy?" He asked.

"Why are you asking?" I asked.

"Because I read the newspaper." He said. "You kissed him."

"Yeah, but that's all that really happened."

"I want you to be safe, you know. I know you've been friends for a long time and all, but you can only start something with him if you're truly up for it. Don't go too fast, it might ruin everything." He explained.

"I'm safe, dad. Thanks, but it'll be ok." I replied.

With that, he left. I walked back into the Great Hall and walked over to my friends.

I had almost arrived to our spot when I looked up and saw Cedric Diggory talking to them.

"Oh, there she is!" Pansy said.

Cedric looked my way. Pansy shot my a smirk and then tried to keep her laugh in.

"Hey, y/n. Could I talk to you for a second?" He asked.

"Yeah, sure." I sighed.

We walked out of the Great Hall, to the same place where I had just talked with my father.

"You read the newspaper?" He asked.

I nodded.

"I just want you to know, Rita is just writing all things down that are not true. You probably already know that, but still. I really don't care whatever you do with Malfoy. I went with Cho and I had is much fun and I really don't feel anything for you. It's just, Rita makes everything different so that it 'entertaining' or something. We can just be friends, right?" He said.

"Don't worry, me neither. Is it working between you and Cho then? Oh and by the way, Draco and I aren't really official yet. I know Rita changes the stories. Best we can do is just ignore that. And yeah, sure. We can be friends." I replied.

"Great. And yeah, Cho and I are having a great time. So uh, maybe I'll talk to you later." He said.

"Yeah, bye." I smiled and then walked back to my friends.

They all looked my way. Pansy, Blaise and Theo bursted out laughing. Draco, however, had a disgusted look on his face.

I sat down. I quickly explained what Cedric talked about and then we left to the common room.

We were just walking when suddenly I have a hand grab my wrist.

"Hey guys, we'll catch up with you later." Draco said and he pulled me with him.

His grip was strong, it hurt a little. He started walking faster, I couldn't keep up because I had much smaller legs. But he still had my wrist in his hand.

Once we finally stopped walking, he opened a room and pulled me inside.
