AFTER MY HONEYMOON

chapter 25

Mia had just dropped in front of SKY STRUCTURE and taking a deep breathe, she walked into the building. She walked up to the reception like she did yesterday but on one was there. She stood looking around to see if there was anyone she could ask for directions.

It was quite funny to her since she was here yesterday and she couldn't even remember the floor she took the elevator to.  Yesterday's event had taken a big toll on her and she was still a bit shaken. she could barely sleep the previous night and even thought about taking the next available flight back to Australia but she decided to come anyway . She was still standing there when someone said

"Miss Stewart?.... what are you doing here ". She turned around to see that it was Nelson who was walking up to her. She smiled stiffly and said "Umm...I'm here to see Mr. Wilson in respect of the partnership papers...he had told me that he wanted to go over them again".

"Ooh.... Richard isn't here yet I've been trying to call him but he's not picking up... right now I'm late for a meeting so I'm kind of in a hurry". He said looking at the wrist watch on his wrist.

"But we both decided that I will come take the papers today.. can you try calling him again please...".

"I'm sorry like I said earlier I'm already late umm...do this why don't you go to his house perhaps he overslept or he might even be working from home...here is his house address".

By now the receptionist had come back from wherever she went to so Nelson walked up to her, got a pen and paper and wrote down his address and gave it to her. Before she could say anything else to him, he was already out the revolving doors.

While she was in the car, she looked at the address that was given to her again and thought what game was the universe playing with her it was already enough that she saw him yesterday...now she would have to meet him again. She sighed thinking If only he signed the papers yesterday.

When she reached the address, she came down and paid the driver. He was quite a chatty man so she wasn't bored during the 30minutes drive. Looking at the house it was really beautiful and it had a large gate as well so one certainly couldn't see through. She pressed the door bell and a middle aged mad opened the gate.

 He greeted her with a smile on his face and when she told him she was here to see Richard he let her in. When she entered she looked around and saw that the surrounded was beautiful as well. It had a large lawn and a beautiful garden as well it was a wood themed house. And for a moment she thought what it would have been like to live in such a beautiful environment with Richard but as quickly as the thoughts came she distorted them.

When she got to the porch, she hesitated a little before she rang the door bell she became very anxious since she expected that Richard will open the door. When she heard the door opening, she held her breathe and looking at who opened the door, it was an elderly woman.

The woman opened the door with a smile on her face and seeing the woman with her warm smile, Mia couldn't help but smile as well.

"May I help you child?". The woman said indicating that she comes inside the house.

"I'm here to see Mr Wilson...I'm here to collect some papers from him please can you...".

Before she could finish the woman smiled saying " This is the first time a woman has come to see my boy.. please sit I will serve you fresh juice". The woman said walking away. Mia assumed she was going to the kitchen...it seemed the woman wasn't listening to her Mia smiled to herself.

While she was still waiting she looked around even the interior was beautifully designed. Of course it had a masculine touch to it but if felt homely perhaps, it was because of the elderly woman she thought. She was interrupted in her thoughts when the woman came in with a glass of juice. Although, she didn't feel like drinking anything, in order not to hurt the woman's feelings she drank a little and asked

 "Please can you call him down for me it's important I get the papers today".

"Alright dear I will quickly do that". She said and left. The woman came down not too long after telling her that Richard will be down shortly, and exclaimed that she was late since she had to attend her grand daughter's recital. Before she left, she told Mia to tell Richard that his breakfast was on the dinning table and that he should eat it as soon as possible before it becomes cold. Mia found herself smiling when she complained about how he ate less and worked a lot.

 Not long after the elderly woman left, the house became so quiet and Mia didn't know what to do with herself and she suddenly started feeling all kinds of nerves. She was sitting there with her hands folded together on her laps, when she heard his footsteps coming down the stairs. Of course she was a bit tensed but at least today was better than yesterday so she quickly prepared herself, and turned to his direction.

"Good morning Mr Wilson.... I umm...came to collect the papers". She said smiling stiffly.

"Yeah I'm so sorry miss Stewart I will go get it now". Now she looked at him since he came down he looked a little pale she almost asked if he was alright out of concern but then again it was no longer her business...she just needed to get these papers and leave.

He went up again to get the papers and came down the stairs but then he said " I'm sorry I didn't get a pen I will quickly go and get it and be right back...I'm sorry for wasting your time I really don't know what's wrong with me". He said running his hand through his disheveled hair and turning around in the direction of the stairs.

She quickly stopped him, by putting her hand on his wrist their eyes both went to where her hand made contact with his bare skin and she quickly removed her hands and clearing her throat she said " There is no need I have a pen here". She said bending a little to find the pen she had put in her bag this morning...while she was searching for the pen she heard a thud sound on the ground and she quickly turned around to see what it was and she was shocked by what she saw.
