AFTER MY HONEYMOON

chapter 35

She surely heard her name because she turned to his direction. Richard was shocked to see that she was loosing her balance...she was falling but... thankfully, he got to her before she could hit her head on the cold tile.

He craddled her head but he noticed she was clutching unto her stomach he quickly carried her up and with a little bit of effort, he used his card to open the door and carried her in. Since he was in a state of panic, seeing her in that condition, he didn't bother to close the door when he entered. He laid her down on the sofa and rushed to get water for her.

He tried to give her the cup but her hands were shaking and the cup eventually fell form her hands and broke and that startled him even more. The next thing he noticed, was that she seemed to be scratching her body..... her neck, as well as her arms there were red marks and he was shocked because a while ago, she seemed just fine. He asked her in a panicked voice

"Miss..miss Stewart are you feeling alright what's wrong?" By now, she was already wheezing and coughing and her breathing became laboured as well.

She couldn't even form two words and she eventually passed out there once again. Richard was scared the red dots seemed to be increasing before his eyes so he decided to take her to the hospital. Thankfully since the door wasn't closed he easily stepped out locked the door, and raced to the elevator, with her in his arms.

She seemed it be going in and out of her conscious because by the time he got to the hotel lobby, he heard her moan again in pain. Thankfully the valet was just outside so he quickly gave him the key to the car he rented when he landed in Ontario. The valet must have seen the emergency because, he moved quickly and brought the car around. Richard thanked him and put Mia into the car and strapped her in. He got into the driver's seat and put on his GPS to the nearest hospital.

Richard couldn't explain it but seeing her in pain, made him feel terrible there was slight traffic on the road and when he stopped, he checked her and it seemed she was barely breathing now and he was panicking he kept honking like a mad man...he felt like he was once again loosing someone precious to him and suddenly he wasn't seeing Mia anymore but Lillian and he felt like crying seeing her in this state.

The traffic eased up eventually and following the GPS, he got to the hospital and carried her in. Getting in, he shouted out to the nurses he saw " Please help me...I don't know what's wrong with her". Thankfully seeing the emergency, the nurses moved quickly and soon she was taken in for examination.

He was asked to fill some forms for her admission while she was being examined. He could barely hold the pen properly and write when he remembered the state she was in.. he didn't know why but all he could whisper at that moment was " Please don't leave me".

He stood outside pacing and waiting for the doctors examining her to come out. He was still pacing when he heard his phone vibrating in his pocket. He brought it out and saw that it was Nelson calling so he picked up the phone.

"Hey man...I've been calling for sometime now where have you been? He asked but got no reply but kept talking anyway.

" Saw the photos Vivian posted you guys are sure having a lot of fun there...although I didn't see miss Stewart why didn't you take a picture with her?... don't tell me you are avoiding her and still haven't told her how you feel". After that his reply finally came through.

"Look man I'm really not in the mood for this conversation..I...." He was interupted by Nelson.

"Whoa man... He heard shuffling in the background.. were you crying? Why does your voice sound so shaky ".

"I'm not crying..... it's been 30 minutes since we got here and the doctor still hasn't come out to say anything to me...... I'm loosing my mind here".

"you clearly sound like you were... is it something serious? should I come pick you up?".

The question made Richard smile a little and he said " Now look who is panicking.... I'm just a little tensed that's all and I wasn't crying Nelson". emphasizing on the crying

" Relax...relax tell me clearly what happened and who are you talking about".

Richard was able to relax and narrated everything to Nelson they were still talking, when the doctor came out and he quickly said goodbye to Nelson and approached the doctor.

"Doctor how is she....can I see her now? What happened to her?".

"Umm.. it seemed she is allergic to something she ate and gauging the symptoms it's quite rare do you have any idea what she ate last".

" We attended a dinner and there was a lot of food served there...I don't really know but we had pie for dessert that I'm sure of ".

"Alright for now she is stable we have run some tests so we will be getting the results soon... I will let you see her once we have the results".

"Thank you doc...I will be waiting". He said shaking hands with the doctor who walked away talking to a nurse".

Richard was a little relaxed once he found out that she was stable but he was a bit confused and wondered what could be in the food, to have caused such a reaction from her.

Mia finally woke up and opening her eyes she saw bright lights and immediately closed her eyes back...but she opened them again and finally adjusted her eyes to the light. She looked around her and saw that Richard was lying down on the sofa just beside her bed it seemed she was in a VIP room since the room looked quite expensive. She slowly got down from the bed and walked up to him sleeping on the sofa.

She stood looking at him. She contemplated waking him up, but was a little hesitant at first she was shocked to see him here when she woke up and wondered how she got here as well. But something caught her eyes...his wrist... there was a large scar on his wrist like he had a severe injury on his wrist it also looked deep as well.

She was still staring at it when he moved. She quickly moved to go back and lie down on the bed...and perhaps because she was just waking up she felt dizzy again and almost fell but she held unto the bed to steady herself and soon she heard his voice.

"You are awake?". He sounded surprised and quickly got up and helped her to the bed and went to call the doctor. The doctor examined her and said "She's better now but we will still watch her for tonight and discharge her tomorrow morning". He thanked the doctor and the doctor left.

He slowly sat down beside her and said " Are you feeling alright now?".

"Ye...yes I'm alright". She said avoiding his gaze.

"You are allergic to strawberries too?". He said after staring at her for a while.

"Too?". She asked with confusion written all over her face.

"Umm...sorry I meant the doctor said that it was allergic reaction to strawberries I didn't know you were also allergic to strawberries".

"Why? Do you know someone else who is?".

"Um.. yes I used to but I have never really seen someone react to it you know I was really startled and worried there...I thought you would die on me" he said laughing nervously.

"You should go back to the hotel I am fine now". She said looking at him now.

"Please I want to stay and make sure that you are alright".

"There is no need for that and besides you seem pretty tired as well.... why don't you just pick me up tomorrow morning".

He wanted to speak when she interrupted him and said "Please I insist... the nurses are here... if I need anything".

He decided no to argue with her any longer and decided to go and just as he was about to open the door she said with a small smile " Mr. Wilson...thank you very much for today I really appreciate it".

He simply nodded and stepped out of the room and closing the door after him.
