AFTER MY HONEYMOON

chapter 32

"Sorry? Your room? Are you sure you are not mistaken". Mia said limping to the nearest sofa she could lay her butt on.

 She had already began to feel pain on her sprained leg because of the pressure she put on it while standing earlier.....the stress of the entire journey had already began to tell on her as she started to experience slight headache as well and now, she had once again been given a pleasant surprise from the universe.....one she clearly wasn't prepared for.

"Are you alright though...you seem to be in a lot of pain". Richard said gesturing to her leg not bothering to answer the question she had earlier asked.

"Had a small accident at the lobby..". She said averting her gaze and looking at the injured leg which was currently the subject of the conversation.

" May I have a look at it". He asked letting go of the suitcase, walking up to her and stooping down before her and before he could even touch her feet she quickly recoiled her leg which caused her more pain which she ignored.

 " There is no need Mr. Wilson I have already sent for sprain spray it should be here any minute now".

Just as they were just finishing that conversation, they heard a knock  on the door which distracted them both and Mia said " Come in". Martha materialized from behind the door apologizing profusely about being late. She stooped down and opening the spray bottle was about to spray the substance on her leg when she was interrupted, by Richard's voice.

"Why don't you call a professional...have you handled a sprained foot before?". Martha nodded her head and looking up to him from where she was stooped down  with blush staining her cheeks said " Yes sir we are trained in all aspects here in order to fully help out customers and our guests...so please do not worry sir she's in good hands ".

Since standing there would have been really awkward for him, he said to Mia " I will go confirm the accommodation once again I will be right back". She raised her head and nodding in acknowledgement without uttering a word.

Richard walked out of the room closing the door behind him. And taking the elevator down, he went to the lobby. He walked up to the receptionist and greeted. The girl who was talking to her co-worker, quickly shooed them away and smiled to Richard and that too a little more than necessary.

"Umm sorry I'm from SKY STRUCTURE my colleague who was earlier supposed to come had an emergency but I'm here in his stead....but I think there is a little problem because it seems I'm sharing a suite with Miss Stewart the representative from STONE BUILDERS can you please check and find out if there was a mistake in the allocation of rooms?".

The girl, looking briefly to the screen right in front of her turned back to him and said smiling again which he was starting to get creeped out about  "No sir there isn't any mix up since the entry was late and there were no more rooms available, we decided to give you both one of our biggest suites here....we had earlier placed a call to Mister smith to ask if it was alright and he said since SKY STRUCTURE and STONE BUILDERS were partners it would be easier to work together".

"Ooh I see well thanks...and sorry for wasting your time".

"It's not a problem sir...please feel free to come here if you have any questions...and here is the convention schedule I had forgotten to give it to miss Stewart please make sure she sees it " she said handing him a pamphlet and looking inside he could see it contained the activities that were going to take place.

He glanced through only briefly and decided to give Nelson a call while walking up to the elevator and on the first ring, he picked up.

"Hey man...what's up have you arrived?".

"Yeah just arrived and found out that I and Miss Stewart have to stay in the same suite...you knew about this didn't you?". He asked pressing the button to his floor.

"Yeah...got a call from them and since they didn't have rooms available and  we made  the entry late because someone was taking his precious time to decide Richard rolled his eye even though Nelson couldn't see it- she brought up the idea and I obliged and besides the suite is big...why are you making a big deal about it?". He asked and laughing lightly he said " Is it because you have a crush on her?".

"Of course not have you lost your mind? By the way how is Avery doing now hope she's okay?".

"Yeah she's much better...take care man...will talk to you later rest up okay". And the call was disconnected.

By the time he got off the phone with Nelson , he had already gotten to his floor and then he walked up to his room, technically the one he and Mia would be sharing which was quite unnerving to him.... breathing in deeply he swiped his card and followed by the familiar beep, the door opened. Looking at his wrist watch, he saw that it was about 8pm already and he was really tired he had barely slept...Nelson was supposed to attend but it seemed there was an emergency with Avery and he had no other choice but to step in since it would be wrong to have signed up and not show up....that wouldn't bode well for his company.

He put his hand on his neck to try and stretch it a bit and release some tension since it felt stiff... when his eyes caught the attention of Mia on the sofa. It seemed she had slept off while he was downstairs. He looked around and saw that his suitcase was kept by a corner but Instead of walking up to his suitcase and collecting it, his feet's rather moved towards Mia.

She was sleeping peacefully on the sofa her dark hair was also sprawled all over the sofa. He had imagined Lillian with such long hair and smiled. He found himself drawing closer and stooped down just in front of her.... he was about to touch her hair with his hands when he restrained himself scolding himself....but then what he couldn't do with his hands, his eyes did instead.

With his eyes he traced every single facial feature from her eyes to her nose and her lips...his gaze remained on her lips for a while before he quickly averted his gaze and quickly stood up retrieved his suitcase, and went into his room.

By the time he had settled and bathed, it was around 10pm and he suddenly felt really hungry and decided to order room service. He made a call from his room and ordered....he ordered a little extra thinking to himself that he could ask her to join him and eat but by the time he thought against it and feeling asking her was probably a little to forward on his end, he had already ordered.

Mia woke up with a start looking up at the time she saw it was about 9pm...and thought to herself "have I really slept for that long".

But she quickly got up and moving her feet she realized that the pain had really subsided and she could walk now without limping she walked into the room the employee had earlier dropped her suitcase and decided to freshen up when she was done, she tied her hair in a low bun. 

She was feeling thirsty so she decided to go get water from the inbuilt fridge she had seen earlier she had opened the fridge and saw a lot of bottled water and took one. While she was doing that, she heard the sound of a door closing so she quickly turned around and just as she turned around she saw Richard  coming out of another door which she guessed was probably his room further confirming her fears that they were going to have to share this suite together and it suddenly felt so small.

 Richard walked up to her he said "Miss Stewart I..."
She was shocked and almost dropped the bottle she was holding in her hand.... definitely not because he was standing in front of her but because the next thing she heard was

"Lillian?".
