AFTER MY HONEYMOON

The pen drive..... The pen drive Lilian gave to Richard, the same day she gave him the divorce papers which had put an end to their marriage was what caught Richard's attention.

Throwing the wedding band into the drawer he stood up and went to lie down on his sofa. Although he was tired and wanted to sleep, he couldn't sleep feeling restless he got up and walked up to the floor to ceiling window, in his office and since it was late at night all the streets lights, and the lights in restaurants which were still open, just opposite their office building were on so everywhere was bright it was beautiful but still he was still restless.

Finally walking up to his laptop, he opened his drawer and pulled out the pen drive, and inserted it into his laptop seeing it was an audio file, his interest was further piqued and then he played it.

"You see it took so much time to work on that video Lillian. I almost thought he wouldn't believe it at first but wow Richard is amazing isn't he.....".

At first Richard was shocked the voice on the audio file was very recognizable.... at least to him of course..... he could recognize the voice anywhere in the world after all they grew up together.

Of course anyone who heard this audio recording would clearly understand what exactly was going on.... everything was planned.....absolutely everything....and by now Richard was scared....scared because he had made a huge mistake...scared because he had lost Lillian and that too to a well thought out plan of his own brother. The only time he could remember ever feeling this way was after he lost his mother and this was the second time in his life he has felt this way and he did the first thing that came to mind and that was to find Lillian.

He quickly grabbed his car keys and rushed out of his office his security guard had even asked where he was rushing off to but he didn't even stop to return the man's greeting which was unlike him.

Richard was stuck in a traffic jam for a long time and when he finally got to Lillian's house, it was already 1am in the morning but of course that didn't stop him he quickly got down from the car and ran to the gate and started banging on it. He did for a few minutes, before the security guard opened the gate and before he could say anything the security guard said " Mr. Wilson its so good to see you madam and her daughter are not at home right now...actually, they haven't been for the past two weeks". Richard being momentarily shocked at the news quickly thanked the security guard and entered his car, and drove off while still driving he tried calling Lillian but her line wasn't reachable so he went to the place he knew she must be.

Anita was sleeping when she heard her door bell of course she thought she was hearing things because it was at least 2am in the morning when she checked the time. She tried to sleep when she kept hearing the door bell and she sleepily got up to go and see who was at the door....she was ready to give whoever was at the door a piece of their mind so she didn't even check in the small screen just by her door to see who it was and just opened the door.

Anita was quite shocked to see Richard at the door and before she could say anything still surprised to see him at the door he said " Anita I'm so sorry to disturb your sleep but I need to speak to Lillian please can you call her down ".

After coming out from the shock, she said "Lillian isn't here Richard go home". She tried closing the door on him but he quickly wedged it with his leg and forced his way into the house and began calling out to Lillian.

" Lillian!.. Lillian! please come down I need to speak to you". He tried going up the stairs but Anita stood in front of him to obstruct him and by now the worry was very evident in his facial expression. 

" Richard what kind of madness is this can't you see what time it is ?.....and I already told you that Lillian isn't here so please go home you are disturbing the neighborhood".
