I woke up the next day to food being out on my tray by the nurse. I looked to my left and saw another nurse disconnecting my IV bag. She looked at me.
Nurse: This might hurt a little, she pulled the needle out of my arm.
I winced in pain.
Nurse: Alright now for the bandage, she pulled the towel off my arm that was absorbing the blood and put a bandage on my arm:
Nurse 1: Have a good lunch Miss. Petrou, she walked out.
Nurse 2: Oh I almost forgot, she picked something off the table handing it to me. We give them to all our patients after they have surgery.
I looked and saw it was a bracelet kit.
Y/n: Thank you, I watched her walk out.
Nurse 2: Of course, she closed the door behind her.
I looked up and saw Jacob was still asleep.
Y/n: Your so handsome, he opened his eyes and smiled.
Jacob: Thank you baby, he rubbed his eyes.
Y/n: It's early you know, I turned towards him.
I felt less pain in my stomach today. Even though I did something I wasn't supposed to do oddly enough I feel better from doing it.
Jacob: What's that, he saw the box in my hand?
Y/n: It's a bracket kit. I was thinking of making you one.
Jacob: Aww, that's cute. He looked at the tray above us. Are you gonna eat something? It's been like four days.
Y/n: Not right now, I don't really wanna eat the food here.
Jacob: Well you have to eat soon, he said concerned.
Y/n: I will. I promise, I opened the box with the bracelet stuff in it.
I grabbed a piece of string and grabbed Jacob's wrist. I sized the bracelet on his wrist and grabbed a few beads. I put all black beads on the bracelet. Then I grabbed the letters I needed for his name D-A-D-D-Y. I finished it and tided it around his wrist. He tried to look but I didn't let him.
Jacob: I wanna see!
Y/n: No, it's a surprise, I pulled out my phone and took a picture.
Jacob: Can I look yet, I was putting the picture on insta.
Y/n: No, give me one more minute.
