At this point, the number of balls being hosted this season was just the same as the last, blending together by stupid flowers, jewellery, gowns and music. The same thing over and over again. Frankly, it was becoming annoying to (y/n) as she walked down the stairs with her sister and Lady Grace for the Hagreeves' annual Spring Ball. She just wanted to leave and go for a walk to calm her nerves, especially when Five kept looking at her when he asked her sister for her first dance.
He needs to stop looking at me and focus on dancing with her.
The last few notes of the song slowly ended as the couples on the dance floor bowed to each other to end their dance, (y/n) moving to drab some whiskey to drink. "You're drinking again..." (y/n) grinds her jaw as she heard Five behind him. She ignores him and downs the drink to grab another but her hand was stopped by his. "I thought you would stop drinking for your sister." Five frowns as (y/n) sighs out but doesn't turn to look at him. He had a feeling that (y/n) only drinks when she didn't want to face or feel certain things, or to drown them out and he was worried for her.
"What my business is with my sister is none of your concern." (y/n) snaps, turning around to face Five as he freezes from her beauty. She wore a dark blue gown that was littered with gems, sheer lace gloves also donned with the mesmerising gems as well as in her hair that was pinned up loosely with a crown. (y/n) felt self-conscious from how Five was looking at her, wondering if it was a good idea for Lady Grace to dress her.
"Sister!" (y/n) blinks and turns to face her younger sibling, putting on a soft smile for her to hide the irritation away. "You came!"
"I did..."
"Fantastic, because now you and Viscount Hargreeves can take to the dancefloor."
"What why-"
"-not once have you danced this whole season."
"It's because I don't know how to-"
"-that's a lie and you know it. You were the one to teach me." (y/n) puffs her cheeks as she was caught in a lie.
"I shouldn't-"
"-you two need to get to put your differences aside! I can't have my sister harbouring hatred for my courter."
"(s/n) don't-" the young girl was pushing her older sister and the Viscount towards the dancefloor, the two now stuck in the middle when the music starts playing. Five saw how anxious and stressed (y/n) was, holding out his hand for her.
