FOR the muggles, October 31st was a fun holiday, which was what they were celebrating in 1981.
For the wizarding world, however, everything changed that day. Voldemort had gone into the Potter household and killed James and Lily Potter, then attempted to kill the son— Harry Potter. It backfired, though.
Voldemort died and could never be back. The reason he could never be back was because of Regulus Black; the person that destroyed all of Voldemort's horcruxes without anybody ever knowing or suspecting him of it.
More than a year before Voldemort's death, Regulus had met a muggle woman and had his first and only child soon after— Cassius Regulus Black. Regulus got married to that woman and left the wizarding world for the years he was with her. When Cassius was 9, his parents got divorced and Regulus got custody of his son.
And soon after that, he went back to the wizarding world.
Meanwhile, Harry Potter was rightfully living with Sirius Black, his godfather.
