The morning went on as soldiers cleaned up the stalls and provided the horses with care.

Eren was feeding the horses as Eld and Gunther talked near some stairs and rubble.

Gunther soon looked up towards Eren's direction before calling out for him, "Hey, Eren!" "Are any of your comrades planning to enlist with us?", Gunther asked in the end.

Eren said yes without any hesitation, only for him to take his word back. "Well, there were... I'm not sure anymore." Eren said as the memory of his former squad getting eaten appeared.

He stood quietly as he watched the horse eat before hearing a yell to assemble for the Captain who had just returned.

Eren ran towards the captain as he talked to Eld and Gunther. Due to his late arrival, he interrupted the conversation to greet his Captain, "Good Morning, Lance Captain Levi!" Eren said as he stood up straight with one fist over his heart and the other behind his back.

Levi stared down at Eren before saying, "Listen Eren, stay within two horses of me. Don't forget the only reason you're not locked up is because I'm supervising you". Eren nodded in response and was quickly rushed by his Captain to leave.

As the Levi squad made their way to the assembly, Erwin was giving a speech to those who wanted to join the scouts.

His speech brought fear and shock to those who wanted to enlist, causing gasps in the crowd. Those who were filled with fear rushed out soon after the commander's speech was over.

He eyed those who moved and those who didn't.

Thirteen people stood in the end, completely regretting their actions, but were soon accepted into the scouts. They all placed one fist over their hearts and the other behind their backs, giving their hearts to join and serve as fellow scouts.

The night soon retreated and upcame the sun. The new recruits were learning about one of their fellow scouts' horses, which soon led to commotion due to his horse attempting to eat his bendana.

They soon moved onto learning their positions for an upcoming expedition.

While the new recruits learned about their position, the Levi squad was also learning about their position for the expedition.

Eren questioned the expectations but was soon shut down by the squad, saying to trust the commander's orders before Gunther gave the squad the signal to head out.

Once they arrived, Eren was back to cleaning the stalls. He shoveled the digested food the horses had left for him.

He soon finished up and headed out of the stalls. As soon as he exited, he stood frozen as he watched a crowd of people walk past him.

He was filled with delight when he recognized them among the crowd. He quickly asked Oluo if he could go by for a quick catch up. Oluo gave Eren the greenlight as he ran towards his childhood friends.

"Hey, Mikasa, Armin!" Eren yelled out, catching the attention of a blond-haired boy.

The attention of the black-haired girl soon caught on with Armin as she gasped with delight.

Mikasa rambled on with questions, trying to confirm his safety; Eren tried to reassure her, but it didn't seem to work.
