Why? (Depressed Eren X Captain Levi)

Chapter 17

"The Weekly Sessions"

**Third Person**

Eren was enjoying his time with his fellow comrades as he began to get closer to them. He loved being around people that treat him as human and not as a threat.

The cafeteria door opened wide, creating a loud bang. Everyone in the cafeteria eye's shot towards the door, wondering who would do that in such a rude manner. Not like they can do anything about it since Levi's figure appeared from the door frame.

Levi made his way inside the cafeteria area looking for a particular brown-haired boy who is a member of his squad. Levi finally made eye contact with the boy and approached him with ease, while Eren on the other hand was not so at ease. He was terrified that he had done something wrong to upset the older male.

"Eren it's time for our appointment" Levi announced as he began to walk back to his office. Eren was shock at first that he was trouble-free but that slowly faded as he looked down and knew what was gonna happen.

He let out a sigh as he slowly left the table, his hand slowly gliding off the cold wood table before Petra placed her hand over his. Grabbing the males attention.

Eren looked back and the ginger-haired woman gave him a look that gave him confidence, "Don't be scared! You got this! You'll recover soon!" Petra said as she cupped Eren's hands with hers.

Eren smiled as his negative emotions slowly faded, "Thank you.." Eren said as he got out of Petra's grasp as he then put his hand onto her head, ruffling her hair as he walked off.

Petra smiled but then realized she got treated like a child to someone who's younger than her. She puffed her cheeks as she was gonna get ready to yell at him to respect his elders but the loud laughter interrupted her.

The squad all laugh at the reactions the two had but they also awe over them and their little moment.

Levi waited in his office, getting everything prepared as patiently waited for the young troubled boy.

As Levi was reviewing the questions there was a knock on his office door, "Name and business." Levi said as cold as he could.

"Eren and for my appointment with you.." Levi heard the muffles of Eren's voice through the door. "Come in.." Levi said as he took his eyes off the door.

Eren took the seat that was in front of his Captain, Eren handed over his journal that the Captain gave him. Eren tapped his foot nervously as the Captain read through the new written pages.

Levi read each word on each line, making sure he wouldn't miss anything. At the bottom of the page Levi noticed the stains of tear marks.. making his heartache knowing he had been crying while writing his bottled feelings out onto a page.. he clenched the page, wrinkling the paper.

Levi took a breath as he was ready to begin their session, "Alright let's start off with calming your nerves." Levi said as he shut Eren journal.

"Uh- I'm not nervous though.." Eren said in response, Levi knew that, that was an obvious lie. "Then do you like shaking your legs as your breathing is shaky?" Levi questioned as he looked down at Eren's leg which kept going up and down.

"..No.. it's just uh.. we hadn't done this in a while.." Eren said as his nerves slowly faded, "It's only been a week but it's understandable why you're nervous, don't worry.. now.." Levi said as he pulled out the clipboard.

"Why do you feel like you're a titan and not human..?" Levi readout. "Uh.. well when I was being held by the military core they would spat out hurtful words.. saying things that are true.." Eren said with a small smile..

"What word did they spat at you? Levi questioned, he always knew that the military core was a piece of shit.

Eren took a shaky breath as he slowly began to respond, "Uh... it's more like they talked shit about me to each other.. ha.. They spat at how I was a monster to humanity and I should have been killed the same way their comrades had to.." Eren clenched his fist as he remembered the memory of being head like a cat in a cage..

Levi resisted the urge to grab and hold his trembling hands to keep them steady.. Levi cleared his throat as he got his mind clear, "Have you had a relapse since our last meeting?" Levi questioned hoping he'll get the answer he wants to hear..

"No.. I made a promise to my best friends.. I can't go back now.."  Eren answered as his smile and eyes shined brightly. Levi was relieved of his answer but still needed confirmation, "roll up your sleeves" Levi said as he put aside the clipboard.

"Yeah yeah, I know.." Eren said as he rolled both his sleeves, revealing his old scars. Levi carefully grabbed his arm as he scanned his arms looking for any new cuts or scabs.

Levi let out a deep breath he's been holding unintentionally, "You're clean.. that's good.." Levi said as he let out a small smile..

"OH MY YMIR!" Eren screamed as Levi got scared from the sudden noise, "WHAT?!" Levi screamed back as he tried to calm his cool. "YOU SMILED!!!" Eren said as he pulled his Captain closer, Levi noticed the little distance between them... his eye wandered to his eyes and to his lips.. losing track of time...

"Captain..?" Captain-?... CAPTAIN!!" Eren said, screaming once again, finally grabbing his Captain's attention..

"Whatever.." Levi said as he pushed Eren's face away from his, Eren giggled slightly as he got pushed back into his seat.

The two males continue their secession for the remainder of the time.

Time flew by and Eren's secession ended, "I'll be leaving first," Eren said as he got off from his seat. Levi glanced over in Eren's direction seeing him wave his hand goodbye with a smile, Levi smiled and looked away.
