Dani

We finished packing everything in boxes today, and I do mean everything, like my parents underwear. Yeah no one wants those but I didn't have the heart to pack their things so someone else did.

As I do a final walkthrough saying goodbye to my home for the last time, I can almost hear the laughter of my parents. "Goodbye house thankyou for all the wonderful memories, I hope you will hear tons of laughter again soon."

"Are you ready to go Dani?" Gramms asks and I give a nod.

We climb into the moving truck and pull away, we decided to stop by the diner for one last piece of pie. I was nervous to see my mom's old boss, I had heard from my friend Stacy say the Alpha didn't like her. Apparently she was very rude to him till he told her my parents had been killed in an accident.

I'm glad that we didn't have to tell her that but I'm not sure how she will react to us stopping by.

When we get to the diner its busy, but we find a small booth to sit in. My mom's friend Becky comes to ask for our order, but as soon as she sees me she hugs me and begins to cry.

"I'm so sorry sweetie, I heard about your parents and I'm so sorry! If I can do anything, anything at all just let me know. I loved your mama like a sister and I will never forget her," she sobs.

"Becky what on earth.. Oh Dani! I'm so sorry for your loss honey if there's anything you need let me know," my mom's old boss says and Gramms says, "pie.. we would like some pie please."

"Yes! Right away, it's on the house!" Mom's boss says as she heads off not even asking what kind we want. She comes back with two slices of the three pies they have available today with a scoop of vanilla icecream on each. "Here you go we got mixed berry bonanza, apple strudel crunch, and s'mores amor. Enjoy your pie ladies and just let us know if you need anything else."

"Thankyou," we say in unison and she leaves.

"What can I get you two to drink before I get back to it?" Becky asks.

"Coffee," we both say and look at each other before laughing. It feels good to laugh, even if it's only for a second.

Before Becky goes to get our coffee she hugs me again, "I'm happy hear your laughter, it's always been one of my favorite sounds. Now I know you will be just fine, I'll go grab your coffees." She says and hugs Gramms too then goes to grab them.

"Shes a nice girl," Gramms says then turns to me, "ok which should we try first?"

"I'm going with the s'mores," I say and she goes with the Apple strudel.

We're both "yumm humming" when Becky returned making her smile. "Here is your coffee ladies, and yes I know... here is your creamer pipsqueak," Becky says winking at me and I laugh. It's like it's any other day visiting with my mom.

After she heads over to her next table Gramms and I get back to our pie and coffee. My favorite of the three turned out to be the Apple strudel crunch and Gramms said her's is the s'mores. Not to say the berry one wasn't good, it was we just liked the others more.

Before we left I hugged Becky one last time. "If you ever need me for anything you have my number, you got that?" She asks while squeezing me tightly.

Afraid of my voice shaking I just nod, I'm honestly going to miss Becky. She has always been a very good friend to my family, like the Aunt I've never had.

~Three and a half hours later~

I dont remember falling asleep, but Gramms is shaking me. "Dani do you have to go to the bathroom?"

"Huh? Where are we?" I mumble trying to wake myself up.

"At a rest stop, I got to use the facilities. Do you need them as well?" She asks me again and I don't so I stay with the truck.

A huge yawn cracks my jaw then I check my phone, one unread message. I open it and it's from my now former Luna.

' Dani I just wanted to say have a safe journey, I wish you happiness in your new start. If you ever need us we will always be here for you. We love you sweetie,
                Luna Scarlett Frost

Ps the kiddos wanted to say good luck so I attached a video.

I opened the attachment and there they were all talking their baby talk at once.

"Say good luck to Dani guys," I can hear Luna Scarlett saying.

Azure turns to his momma and waves, Jackson starts crawling towards the phone babbling as he goes. Juniper is clapping her hands and Rosemary who was playing with a doll looks up and smiles.

I'm going to miss the kids, Jackson's goofiness and his love of making others laugh. The way Azure looks out for his siblings even with him being so young still. Juniper's warmth even if her fiery spirit is bound to get her in trouble one day. Rosemary's flowers that she makes, she is quite good at it.

I save the video to my memory card and lock it in my phone. Though I'm not ready I scroll up to the last video of my parents.

They were dancing in the kitchen, not in the cool "wow" my parents are dancing and I'm not afraid to let others see type either. No this was full on where did you even learn that it's so embarrassing type of dancing.

I click on the video and the cab of the truck is filled with mom and dad's voices and laughter. I watch them as they dance around, dad doing the funky chicken I think and mom doing the sprinkler.

Then they notice that I'm recording and start dancing my way. The video gets a little crazy as you hear me laugh as I'm running away with them calling me. "Dont run from your boogie shoes, we just bought them!" Dad calls and I'm giggling. "Come walk like an Egyptian!" My mom yells out. Before the video ends I call back laughing "the Egyptians dont even want that dance back!"

By the time Gramms gets back I'm laughing and crying at the same time.
