Chapter ten

Dante

I was going over some paper work at my desk when I got a text ten minutes ago, now I'm finding it hard to sit still. The text was from Granny Jo telling me that she and Dani are fifteen minutes away and are going to her house.

Should I go over? Would it be weird if I just show up? I mean they might need help right? So that's perfectly normal to go by and help out pack members in need, right? I begin pacing my office wanting to go over but not wanting to seem weird.

"Dude what are you doing?" Dai asks looking at me. "What happened to your hair?"

I didn't realize that I had been messing with it. So when I looked in a reflective surface I was surprised to see that it was all over the place.

"Whoa when did that happen?" I say trying to fix it.

"You seem tense what's going on?" Kai asks sitting down on one of my couches.

"Granny Jo and Dani are almost here... or maybe they are now, I'm not sure. Do you think it would be weird if I... stopped by to help out?" I ask rubbing the back of my neck.

"Dunno, but you wont know for sure unless you go over. Hey we can go with you so it seems less awkward," Kai says watching my reaction.

"That might work, yeah let's go see if they need help." I say heading for the door and the guys follow.

"Cool I'm finally going to get to see the girl that has you all bent out of shape," Dai says smiling.

I throw him an annoyed look but head out. Luckily the kids are being watched by Myu.

Instead of driving over we shifted and ran, my wolf wants to see her too. I can feel his excitement at the thought of seeing her.

Leo- do you think they missed us? I'm going to talk with her wolf, I hope she likes me

Leo is as self assured as wolves come so to hear him nervous, is humbling.

"I hope they have but wouldn't be surprised if they were to busy to miss us."

We come up to the house just as Dani comes out for another box. "Um hi," she says startled.

I quickly run behind a tree and shift changing into the shorts I brought with me.

"Hi Dani, I brought my Beta and Gamma with me to help you guys unload." I say and I notice that her ears are turning red just before her cheeks do. That's so flippin cute.

"Hi I'm Dante's Beta Daisuke, but you can call me Dai." He says shaking her hand and she nods.

"I'm his brother (points at Dai) and his Gamma (points at me), my name is Kaisuke but everyone just calls me Kai. It's nice to meet you, I'm sorry for your recent loss though," he says shaking her hand and she gives him a rueful grin.

"Its nice to meet you both and thankyou for coming to help us," she says in a tired voice.

"Dani honey what do you want on your pizza, Oh Hello Alpha, Beta, Gamma." Jo nods to us each in turn.

"Hey Granny," the three of us say in unison.

"I wasn't expecting you," she says going over to stand by Dani.

"I just thought it would be nice to give y'all a hand, incase you were tired," I say and they both look relieved.

"That would be very helpful, the boxes marked for kitchen stuff head that way. Bathroom stuff place next to the door of the bathroom here downstairs for now." Ganny says as Dani grabs one of her boxes.

As soon as shes out of ear shot Granny says, "the boxes labeled m&d put them in the attic for now."

We quickly got to work, deciding it best to get the boxes clearly holding Dani's parents belongings put away first. Dani mean while just kept moving her boxes into one of the empty bedrooms downstairs.

"Where are we putting this couch?" Dai asks Granny.

Turning to us she says, "in the basement, I'm going to turn it into a entertainment room for Dani."

It takes the three of us to wrangle the couch down into the basement. We then bring a recliner, and a coffee table. I wonder what they will do with the furniture that they won't be keeping.

I got my answer soon enough, they decided to keep the washer and dryer as well as the fridge. Most of the furniture in her parent's room she donated to a second hand store. The same went for other pieces they didn't keep.

I didn't want to intrude on her space but we helped bring in Dani's furniture. Her room was light, with warm wood floors. We set up her bed, which luckily only had the mattress. No need to think of her sleeping on it.

We brought in her dressers, desk, and nightstands. Dani brought her boxes, lamps, and chair. After we got that all put in place the guys went to help Gran. Just as I'm following the guys to head to the kitchen I hear.

"Can you give me a hand with these?" Dani asks shyly.

I turn and shes holding some cool looking lanterns, and a packet of glow in the dark stars.

"Sure," I say smiling feeling my heartbeat kick up a notch.

We end up with Dani sitting on my shoulders as I move around the room. She places her stars all over the ceiling. I kept going over the names of the constellations she was putting up, so I don't focus on her thighs around my neck.

We finish with the stars then we put up her lanterns. Before I can ask if she needs help with anything else, Gran calls us to eat.

I gently lower Dani off my shoulders and she smiles at me. "Thankyou for helping me, Alpha."

"Please just call me Dante," I say and she blushes, she's so cute.
