Today is Irene's second day in the hospital, also, Kate's birthday is approaching and it will be tomorrow.
"Mom, do you want to eat something?" Kate asked her mother softly, she's really hands on in taking good care of her. Irene was just staring at her, unbelievably.
"Ma, you know that staring is rude." Kate added as soon as she saw her mother staring at her. Irene felt shy as she apologize right away.
"S-sorry love, um no, I'm still busog.." Irene replied, Kate stared at her confusedly and furrowed.
"Busog daw, wala ka namang kinain e. Come on, I'll buy something downstairs, you need to eat kasi you need to drink your medicines." Kate told her, Irene then pouted.
"You'll leave me here?" Irene asked pouting, the other people inside are still sleeping.
"I'll be back right away po.." Kate said softly, she kissed Irene's forehead and cheeks, she was about to exit the room but the door suddenly swung and revealed Greggy.
"Daddy!" Kate exclaimed, she rushed to him and gives him a tight hug. Greggy smiled weakly as he caressed her back, after they withdrew from their hug, he went to Irene, he hugged her sideways and kissed her forehead longer than the usual.
"How are you?" Greggy asked her whispering, Irene looked at her and nods as if saying that she's okay.
"I brought food, wag na kayong bumili sa labas.." Greggy informed them, they both nodded.
"Si mommy hindi pa kumakain yan daddy." Kate told her father, Greggy looked at Irene dismayingly.
"Rene, you need to eat. Ipaghahanda kita.." Greggy affirms, Irene didn't have the chance to protest since Greggy already stood up from his seat and started to prepare the food he brought.
"Ang dami naman neto.." Irene protests to the amount of food Greggy has prepared for him, she looked at Greggy and pouted.
"Finish that, wala ka pang kinain tapos iinom ka ng medicines.." Greggy replied softly as he caressed Irene's back gently, Kate find it sweet and she can't help herself but to smile.
"Too cute ano ba!" Kate exclaims, she jokingly rolled her eyes.
"Ingay niyo naman, natutulog kami oh.." Luis complained that made them chuckle, Kate just smirked at him.
"Ay oh, daddy si Iya!" Luis denounce, Kate ignored her but then throw a teasing smile. The ex-couples smiled while witnessing how their children do some bardagulan, it's been awhile.
"You're tearing up, may masakit ba?" Greggy worriedly asked, he touched her shoulders and kissed her head.
"wala, I'm just happy.." Irene answers, she give him a genuine smile.
"If being sick is the only way for us to stay like this, then let it be good Lord."
"So how's you, I-I didn't expect the n-news.." Greggy cooed, Irene frowns, she hold his hands.
"I'm okay, my body isn't but emotionally I am and I'm very thankful, wala na akong mahihiling pa na iba.." Irene trailed on, she smile at him faintly but whole-hearted. Greggy just nod and smile as a response because he doesn't know what to reply, he's hurt for her.
"Kate, your birthday is approaching na anak, any plans?" Greggy suddenly asked, Kate turned to see her father.
"Um, I don't have dad maybe a simple family dinner would do and also, we'll just celebrate it here, I don't want mommy to be absent.." Kate professed, she walk towards her parents direction. Irene held her daughter's hand.
