Chapter 6 - Debate

Lavender's POV:

She blew a kiss. " See yah later, hoe! "

Matalim na tinitigan siya nito. Then nagdadabog na umalis.

" Miss Robinson, your attitude is very unbecoming considering you are a transferee here. I don't tolerate as such in my class. " sita ni Mr. Nervaez.

" Sir, don't judge me based on the fact that I am new. If my attitude is unbecoming, do you also know what kind of students are you nurturing in this prestigious university? You haven't seen what she just did to me. Your students are the reflection of the school. " She retorted then take a vacant seat.

" I don't like your attitude, Miss Robinson. "

She arch a brow. " I get a lot of those, Mr. Nervaez. And if you will judge me just based on what you saw, but not hearing nor seeing the whole picture then we will have a problem. You don't judge people that way. "

Kumunot ang noo ni Mr. Nervaez. " How dare you, Miss Robinson! "

Naroon siya sa discipline committee. Hinihintay niya ang ilang miyembro ng board at naroroon din si Lena na tila gusto siyang patayin sa mga tingin pa lang nito. Dumating ang kakambal niya.

"Sino ang nagsabi sa iyo na nandito ako?"

"May mga tumawag thinking you are me. Nagmamadali na akong nagpunta dito. Ano ba ang nangyari ate?"

Tinitigan niya ito. She didn't think her sister is the type who will just let be bullied. "Bakit hindi mo sinabi na nabu bully ka dito?" Imbes na tanungin ito ay tanong niya.

Halatang nagulat ang kapatid at umiwas ng tingin. "Hindi ko mapapatawad ang mga nambubully sa iyo dito, Lilac. You should've told me."

Umiling ito. "Okay lang naman ako, ate."

"No! Dapat silang turuan ng leksiyon! I will make sure they'll be kick out of this school." May diing sabi niya.

"Everyone's here?" Si Mr. Catro. Ang head ng discipline committee. Nagsitanguan ang lahat.

"It is brought to our attention ang nangyaring kaguluhan kanina sa campus ground between Ms. Robinson and Ms. Mendoza. Mr. Nervaez is also filing a ground for insubordination. "That's bullshit! Wala akong kasalanan! Kundi ang babaeng iyan!" Lena is hysterical.

"Bakit pati ako? Hindi ba at sinagot sagot ako ng babaeng iyan? That's an act of disrespect!" Dinuro pa siya nito.

She just twitched her mouth. Nasa kanya ang panig ng board.

"Settle down, the both of you! Hindi na kayo nahiya? This is a total disgrace for the school!" Tumaas na ang boses ni Mr. Castro. Muli siya nitong tinitigan. "The final decision will come from you, Miss Robinson."

"What?!" sabay na sambit ni Mr. Nervaez at Lena.

"Ang sabi ng Presidente ay natural na dapat sa'yo manggaling ang desisyon kung paaalisin ba sila sa school o hindi mo sila parurusahan. It's just fair and square. She has a point. Kahit saang anggulo tingnan ay walang ginawa si Miss Robinson kundi ipagtanggol ang sarili niya. Bullying is now a crime. She can file a case if she wishes to. And as for you, Mr. Nervaez, don't treat people as if they are below you. Do not be so arrogant. How you treated as her being new is unacceptable."

Nagyuko si Mr. Nervaez ngunit nahagip ng tingin niya ang matalim na titig nito. "Hindi pa tayo tapos, Lavender Robinson."

"Is that another threat?" nakataas ang kilay niyang tanong.

Hindi kumibo ang matanda ngunit nagtagis ang bagang nito.

"What is your decision, Miss Robinson?"

"I want Ms. Mendoza to apologize to every student she bullied, including me and my sister. As well as her gang. I meant everyone. If not, she's free to leave this university. As for Mr. Nervaez, if we can transfer him to a different university where he can respect each student and he will be under probation. If it is necessary and proven that the University needs him, we can have him back. Fair enough?"

"What about my sister?" Nilingon niya si Lilac. "Can she be excuse, too?"

Tila nag alangan naman si Mr. Castro. "Well... "

"It is okay, ate. I'll be fine." segunda ni Lilac.

"Are you sure?"

Tumango si Lilac.

"I'd rather stay. I want to make sure that my sister is going to be alright. After what happened today, I doubt it." Tinitigan niya si Mr. Nervaez at si Lena. "I am giving you both a day to think about my proposal. You let us know by tomorrow. Think about the consequences. Remember this: never mess with my sister again." Tumayo siya matapos magpaalam sa board at hinila palabas ng kuwarto si Lilac.
