River's pov:
I've been in the car with Kingston for an hour now and it's driving me mad.
We still have two hours to go and I don't know if I'll be able to survive it.
All this journey has been is glares, silence, arguments, and more silence. I'm going mental.
The morning sky appeared as my favourite colour, baby blue, took over the sky.
The storm eventually ended, making our trip easier.
I've had zero sleep and I feel like I'm on the verge of death.
As I was too busy looking out of my window at the beautiful sky, I hadn't noticed that Kingston pulled up at a gas station.
Looking over at him, he got out of the car and slammed the door behind him.
To say this car was $50,000, he doesn't seem to care for it that much. And what is with the attitude, Mr Hulk Smash.
He'd given me my phone back once we started our journey as he knew I wouldn't be leaving his side anytime soon.
I called Maverick to let him know I was okay, seen as how he'd left me 7 missed calls and 13 text messages.
He answered more or less straight away, "Kid, when I call you, you answer. Where are you?" He sounded worried.
"I'm with Kingston, but.. I'm fine. Don't worry." I told him, scared of what he's going to say next.
"I don't know why you're with him but I hope it is for good reason but just know that if he lays a single hand on you, I will brutally kill him and his family." His comment making me chuckle, I love how he's so protective of me.
"I know you will, but I have to go now. I'll call you later." I said my goodbye as I saw Kingston leaving the shop, a cigarette placed in his mouth as he put it out under his shoe before getting back in the car.
Staring at him for a few seconds, I noticed he looked rather irritated.
"What the fuck is up with your face?" I asked, purposely trying to piss him off.
"None of your fucking business." He replied almost straight away, starting up the car.
"Your a miserable cunt, eh." I smirked, focusing back on the outside.
Even when I'm looking away from him, I could still feel his eyes burning through me.
Without even looking at him, I stuck a middle finger in his direction.
"You really are one pain in the ass." Kingston spoke, driving straight back onto the highway.
"I'm aware." I smiled at him as he focused on the lane we were in, speeding up the car.
We are headed to Indiana because apparently that's where my father is.
This may be a trap but I'm taking the risk. I need my dad.
~♡~
We've been in the car for yet another hour, meaning we only have one hour left of this drive.
