River's pov:

I woke up to the peaceful and relaxing sound of rain crashing against the glass windows.

It was dark outside, the moonlight was lighting up the night sky as the heavy rain continued to thrash against the windows.

Sitting up in the unbelievably comfy bed, I picked up my phone to check the time, my phone read 23:17pm.

I've been asleep for longer than expected. I was only meant to have a little nap.

Leaving the comfy bed behind, I picked myself up and walked over to the bedroom door.

Opening it slowly and quietly, I stepped out into the now quiet corridor.

I made my way down to the kitchen, trying my best not to disturb anyone.

As I entered the large kitchen, a cold draft began surrounding me.

I walked over to the fridge to see what I could find as my stomach was practically shouting at me.

I'm fucking starving.

Tons of luxurious food entered my eyesight once I had opened the fridge door.

However, just before I could get my greedy little hands on anything, there was a loud knock at the door.

Why the fuck would someone be knocking at the door when we have two guards stationed right outside that door?

Confused, I slowly shut the fridge door before making my way to the front of the house.

I'm going to take a guess and say that it was only me awake, so I'm going to need to be careful about what I'm doing.

Heading over to the door, I made sure to be aware and continuously check my surroundings.

I noticed a gun laying on a wooden table by the door and immediately picked it up to protect myself, if need be.

It is quite dangerous having a gun laying about, especially when there's kids in this house but I'm sure they know not to mess with that shit.

I quietly placed the gun behind my back as I approached the door.

I have a very weird feeling about this.

As I slowly and quietly opened the door, I opened it ever so slightly, making sure to be careful.

There was nobody stood outside and there didn't seem to be a problem until I looked down.

What the fuck.

The two men who were guarding the door were on the floor, dead and soaked in blood.

A note also sat on one of the bodies and that was partially soaked but you could still make out what it read,

'Oops. Big mistake following us over here. There was no point at all for you to come, you won't be getting your darling father back anytime soon. See ya round ;)'

Motherfucker.

The fact I knew who this was straight away sent a wave of rage and anger all throughout my body.
